They have arrived here, and thus are in the possession of Talossa. A basic page for sales has been put up at kingdomoftalossa.net/index.cgi?page=Coins . This will get updated when I have the time with actual photos and the like. Price is $5 per, which is a one-third discount from the face value at the official exchange rate. Shipping rates are $0.50 US, $1.10 international (same as the stamps for technical reasons involving PayPal).

Oh! Forgot to mention that, while we ordered and paid for 300, according to the packing slip they shipped us 333. (I didn't go through and hand-count them to check that, but I can't imagine why they'd lie.)

Possible that the extra 33 coins could have slight minting errors?

That's possible, of course; haven't examined all of them.
But it's more likely that they always run more than the number ordered in case of defective ones and the like, and then send the extras along because they'd have no use for them anyway while customers would appreciate them. After the die, the setup/changeover is the post expensive part of a small run like ours. If they had made exactly 300, noticed five defectives, and had to re-run, well, that would have cost them a *lot* more than running off 11% more than necessary as insurance in the first place (assuming the stamping operation is similar to stamping auto parts, with which I have direct experience).

The price was set by the Minister of Finance, so I would recommend directing your question to him. I am but a humble civil servant actually doing the work of getting the orders and fulfilling them.

The idea of coins has been bandied about for years on end, and it's finally come to pass! Here's to cups, mouse pads, tee-shirts, and lots of other schwag!

I am but a humble civil servant actually doing the work of getting the orders and fulfilling them. The price and design was set based on multiple quotes and samples I reviewed to find the best deal for the best quality at an affordable price. I decided that a markup of our one Louis coin to at least $4 was too high, and the nearest denomination design to the price was the 5 Louis coin. However, pricing the coins at $7.50-10 may price out some people from buying a coin, and that's where the $5 cost came from.

Page kingdomoftalossa.net/index.cgi?page=Coins now updated with photo of obverse/reverse, and photo comparing size to six other coins. So you at least have some idea what they look like, even if my home-taken smartphone photos aren't quite as well-executed as I'd have liked.
