Introducing el mundeuI'm very pleased to announce Talossa's newest news outlet, elmundeu (The World). We will mostly cover current events, arts and entertainment usually with a little politics but we are starting with special coverage of the election as well. Our breaking news starts with Talossa's first election opinion poll conducted by elmundeu's resident pollster, Gluc da Dhi. It sees the FreeDems with a commanding lead. If these numbers hold then it would mean a majority government and the Seneschalsquab for Miestra Schiva. Please see full results in our Talossa Decides election coverage at elmundeu.wordpress.comAlso in this issue:- More election coverage in our Talossa Decides section including videos, individual predictions and all party manifestos or policy statements
- Citizen's playlist. What is tickling the ears of Talossans this month?
- Cited. A review of interesting quotes from the past month
- In Focus. Our feature essay section. Nothing here yet but a brief explainer on what to expect in future
If you are interested in contributing or in participating in our weekly opinion panel for election polling then please contact me. And please enjoy as we build a news organization which is "For No Party. For Every Citizen." Breneir

I'm very tempted to repeat the famous words, "If this poll is right, Andrew Breneir, I will publicly eat my hat on your programme Witt"... ...but I wouldn't want this to happen again.

Good luck with this Breneir! El Mundeu will be Talossa's Rolling Stone, is how you put it in BT.
Are you at all concerned the TNC has no votes in the poll though? ;-)

I'm wondering if citaxhien Miestra still thinks El Mundeu stinks to high heaven.

Yeah, I tend to agree with you, this seems like a rather unlikely election outcome. Then again, simply repeating what you have done with your exit poll wouldn't add much to what we already know (assuming you will do the exit poll again). You should read my comments on the poll on the El Mundeu site. I hope we can further improve our prediction using just polling data. I also hope we will be able to continue after the elections and focus on other topics than party preference as well. However, the first couple of polls I will be contacting people individually, and this is not something I can keep up unless I want to become the most hated person in Talossa. My hope is therefore that people will sign up for the El Mundeu opinion panel using this form. More info and reasons to do so here.

Very interesting! What do the three bars represent in the chart?
Also, how do I read the issue? On the wordpress page I see a link for the February issue, but when I click on that all I see is a list of the four features in this month's issue.

Hi Cresti, There is a navigation bar on the top of the page with the sections where features can be viewed. I should probably put links on the front post.

Hi Cresti, There is a navigation bar on the top of the page with the sections where features can be viewed. I should probably put links on the front post. Got it! I was looking at the mobile version, so the nav bar was not visible until I clicked on the little menu icon in the corner. Yes, it would probably be helpful if each of the items listed under "in this issue" had a hyperlink.

WOAH if true!
More seriously, and in the cause of intellectual honesty, I have doubts about the methodology of this survey, even though it gives a very flattering answer. The Free Democrats are currently trying to conduct some much more scientific polling which will either confirm or deny this unexpected result.

Having some knowledge of polling, and having covered this polling methodology by Gluc fairly in-depth, I'd be fairly curious to know how much more scientific one could get.

What does the "weighted poll" bar mean?

I don´t think this poll can really be called scientific. If people have doubts about the methodology or suggestions I'd love to hear them. Anyone is welcome to help. I do worry that having two polling organisations will reduce the response rates for both though.
