Prospective Citizen Horner here!
I can only assume that somewhere in the tangled administrative brilliance of the Kingdom of Talossa there resides a Geographic Society, tasked with recording the Kingdom's land and other holdings.
Is this true? If not, maybe I'll start one. I love fiddling with maps.
Perhaps it goes under the Foreign Ministry?
Thoughts?

It definitely doesn't fall within the purview of the Foreign Ministry as of current, you can take my word for it
A bill I recently proposed would establish the Royal Society for the Arts and Sciences, so, assuming it passes, perhaps you could start the "School of Geography" or something like that. Note that school in this case would just indicate a group of people, and not necessarily any education. The Society replaces the University of Talossa, because UTal has become terribly inactive.

Understood. Does not sound like a bad way to go. I was thinking that a geography function could be combined with an environmental protection one. Whats the status of environmental regulation in the Kingdom?

For anyone interested in Talossan geography and cartography, King Ben produced some fantastic work on the subject.
I can't remember if the work made up its own publication (like an atlas) or if it was just a section or chapter in Ar Pats/ big history book. Something tells me it was its own thing separate from Ar Pats though.
Also, if anyone can find it... JP Ventrutx did some great work with Google Maps about 5 years ago. He also had a website, Proviçuns dot something, with a load of map stuff. Dunno if its still out there, but JP should still have the material.
Finally, you can find some stuff on the wiki. I made some basic maps and wrote some geographic information, such as boundry descriptions and notable landmarks, for some of the Parishes and Townships of Vuode on the wiki pages for same. The project has yet to be completed.

I believe the site is: provincuns.com Google Earth: www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=zhSHgOfJWok0.kO7kBU20tiyA&hl=enThere's also a pretty cool map here: www.kingdomoftalossa.net/realm/TalossaGTA.pdf

The atlas and other useful books are specifically on this page of Provincuns.

All of this is frikkin' amazing. I think I could do a lot to update this stuff (not really because of any expertise, but more because of the expansion of capabilities on Google maps). Wow. OK, this is a good place to start.
Ill contact Ventrutx and see if there's interest in teaming up. Whats the best way to contact them?

OK, this is a good place to start. I love maps, and look forward to seeing what you come up with. The provincial maps on the page for each province on the web site are quite dated. Ill contact Ventrutx and see if there's interest in teaming up. Whats the best way to contact them? You can send him a PM or find his e-mail address from his profile here: Ieremiac'h Ventrutx
