Is this a bad time to make a meek, remorseful, and yet flamboyant appearance? And where the hell have you been? You were supposed to be home by midnight in April!! /fixed

While I agree that the King has overstepped morally, seeing that the powers bestowed upon the Crown are a delegation of the People's certain powers; I would like to thank Our Monarch for voicing his opinion.
To be honest, instead of the constant bickering, badgering, nudging and tip-toeing of some of our politicians, I value someone who will actually voice their opinion, speak up for wherein they believe, and stand by it. So thank you, King John, for telling us about your views regarding Amendments to the Organic Law.
And before y'all wiggle the collective tits, I'd urge you to calm them -- the Organic Law does not speak of the Monarch's right to veto an Amendment to the Organic Law, it merely states that the King "may proclaim". I would personally read that to mean that whether the King does proclaim, or not, the Amendment has passed and shall be implemented. So again: let's all calm down, and not give in to petty disputes.

In over a dozen places, the Organic Law says that "the King shall" do something (like appoint the candidate of a majority party as Seneschal, or appoint magistrates). In a few cases, it says "the King may" do something (like dissolve the Cosa early, or commute a sentence). Proclaiming an Amendment is a "may", and the law says explicitly that the Amendment is made "BY proclamation by the King", not by action of the Ziu or the people or the Scribe.
The difference between the King's being required to act, and being permitted to act, is very clear in the text of the law. I'm not REQUIRED to dissolve a Cosa early, but I'm permitted to. I don't HAVE to veto legislation, but I can. I'm not REQUIRED to proclaim Amendments, but I'm allowed to.
This system is hardly dictatorial, or absolutist, and it's silly to use language like that. What it is, it's conservative. It means that fundamental changes to the constitution of Talossa require at least the acquiescence of the Crown.

Here it is friends, a chance to protest the power of the King and BE FIRM ABOUT IT. The King has denied the EXPLICIT WILL of the people. SOCIALISM AND TALOSSA AS A WHOLE CANNOT LET THIS STAND. Was that voiced enough for you Magniloqueu?

An absolutist position which not even Mad King Bobby himself would have dared to put forward (publicly, at least). If we allow this to happen, John has pretty much declared that he owns Talossa and that Talossa can never really change unless he says so. Once more, I challenge the RUMP to say whether this is their idea of constitutional monarchy. It is certainly not that of any of the outgoing Government parties, or the Socialists, or the new Independent MC Hayes.

I am calm, in fact i'm a little ecstatic, this gives us a chance to truly see certain flaws in the organic law and tweak them a bit or a lot if need be

If anyone had any doubts as to whether they joined/supported the right political party, this is certainty the perfect test.
