Oh (BTW, FreeDem is now approved as the initials) But how will you sit in the Cosa? All as FreeDems or are ZRT and LIB members?

Yeah, is it a full merger or a political alliance?

It's not a full merger, it's an electoral alliance but we'll sit together in the Cosa. According to the agreement, some time after the election there will be a vote to determine whether it's going to be a full merger or not. Liberals and ZRTers are still able to make policy and fight for it in the Cosa, but in order to secure the support of the FreeDems as a whole, it has to go through the executive committee.
Happy to answer any more questions about the alliance if there are more out there!

Who counts election ballots?

Who counts election ballots? The answer to that question is threefold: 1 ) The Talossa Database System I built in 2001-2004 and 2014-now (you can follow the updates here
Most citizens vote using an online Ballot in the Database system you can find here: www.talossa.ca/files/vote.phpThey get a ballot by email on the first day of election and can use it to vote online. Their vote is automatically added to the database, and the database tallies the votes automatically. They can even validate their ballot at ANY time: www.talossa.ca/files/validatevote.php (well, until the next election), to make sure the database was not tampered with by anyone. 2 ) The Secretary of State, or SoS (right now, that's me, as I was in 2001-2004). The official person tallying the votes is the Secretary of State, a non-political position which is about to be even more apolitical. The Database is just a tool to automate the voting, but the Secretary of State is the person officially doing that tally. It's like a cargo ship captain. His ship carries the cargo, but he steers the ship. If an error occurs, it falls on me. Is something improper occurs, it falls on me. If fraud occurs, it's my responsibility (either for having failed to take proper measures to prevent it, or for having done it myself since no one else can tamper with the results) However, the SoS can also enter public votes on Wittenberg and Email votes (which are also stored in the Database System and only accessible by the SoS and judges, as below). 3 ) The Election Commission, which composed of 3 judges and the Secretary of State. After the election is done (or perhaps even during the election), they all review all of the votes individually and make sure that all of them agree that the election is valid and properly counted. This commission is there to ensure that the votes are properly counted and that the SoS didn't make mistakes or commit fraud. I had proposed to only validate the non-automated votes and it was rejected. I will propose it again in the future, that way, automated votes will be secret to all, since I would hide them even from my own eyes!

Ok, thank you, I looked at the ballot and I was wondering what my citizen number is? You are citizen number 470, as listed at: www.talossa.ca/files/citizens.phpWhen you get your ballot by email, assuming we have the right email address, it will contain your citizen number and your validation code, so it will be very easy to vote.

The Progressive Party intends to contest the election. As a reminder, the Progressive Party isn't pre-registered with the SoS and paid their fees. The elections starts in 3 days... if you want to be on the ballot, you should get a move on and both pay the fee, and register in this thread. I can help you: Party initials: PROG Party Name: Progressive Party 50 Word statement [That's what I am missing] Leader: Owen Edwards

1 ) Party Initials: RUMP 2 ) Party Name: Rexhalistaes Unificheschti pr'iensa Monarc'hà Parciloqua (Royalists United for a Monarchy of Parsimonious-language) 3 ) There's only one party that stands firm on protecting the monarchy: the RUMP. We also lead for positive change, done responsibly: TalossaWiki, the complete new legal code, stamp sales, the census, and separation of public and private Wittenberg. It's time to end the politics of hatred: vote for the RUMP. 4 ) Leader: Sir Alexandreu Davinescu
