Hi Everyone, The Unofficial Talossa Database has changed a lot in the last week and I thought I should provide an update of my work in the last 7 days. Here is a list of tasks: - Reconciled the citizenship list from the 4 existing lists, which sometimes gave 4 different citizen number for a single citizen
- Redid the layout
- Added all of the past pages exect the election vote one (since I need to add the secret ballot)
- Fixed a lot of encoding issues. There are a few more to fix, but it is progressing quickly
- Prepared the data on all of the clarks and cosa, with the SoS name, PM name and party, dates, etc...
- In that list, I now list the recesses if they occur before the 6th Clark
- I added a single-sign on system on the site, so that users (such as the SoS) login only once for all of the pages
- This allowed me to fix the security of the edition forms: now, they all share the same code to protect the data
- Gave a login to the SoS and trained him on data entry.
- He found a few bugs yesterday, I fixed them today, and hopefully, he will be able to use it. I also adjusted to his feedback a few things
- I notably made it easier to copy cosa members from one Clark to Another
- I made the Mass Edit page for citizens available for the first time to someone other than me (the SoS)
- Made a plan with the SoS to coordinate our efforts to migrate new data to the DB

I don't see "Got a rest and drank a beer". I don't drink alcohol since 1996, when I decided to do something about my Hypo-Glycemia diagnostic. As for getting rest, well, I had to work a lot to bring the Database to an acceptable level. My goal is to get it once again the official status is lost only when I has to leave Talossa.

Oh, I forget to mention that the Cosa Member view now lists all of the clarks on the same page, allowing for easy overview of a single cosa. You can see it here: www.talossa.ca/files/cosa_members.php?cosa=32&sorting=NameWhat remains to be done, is to do the same for the Senators, but I lack the time this morning. Maybe tomorrow morning...

Hm, I am not a member of M. Carbonéls LPR, even if one could occasionally suspect me of this.

And today's biggest changes to be announced are: - The database encoding issues has been fixed! Yay! Now, bills and votes all display properly. - The Clark menu (View Cosa Member, View Bills, View Clark Votes, View Cosa Election Result), is now made of buttons and present on the 4 pages. - The Cosa menu is now made of buttons. The gray ones mean that data is either entered, or available to be entered in the next few week. A black button means data lost - The bills a little better display, notable, the list of bills at the top is clickable to scroll down. - The PM page is now in columns and thus, much easier to read. It also no longer lists the SoS: www.talossa.ca/files/pm.php- The SoS now have their own page at: www.talossa.ca/files/sos.php and the "Election Official" page was merged with it, making it more obvious - The List of Senators page at www.talossa.ca/files/senators.php is now also in a table of Clarks, making it much easier to spot - In tables of clarks, missing clarks (such as when prorogued) are marked a N/A or No Clark instead of Vacant - Clark Votes (such as www.talossa.ca/files/cosa_vote_result.php?cosa=32&sorting=Name) pages are now complete and valid, I think - When the votes on a single bill are shown, the Vote of Confidence no longer shows.

In www.talossa.ca/files/pm.php Cesli da Chilseu is listed as Seneschal for the whole 44th Cosa. This isn't true as Baron Hooligan was the PM until December.

Also, on the same page, GV is listed as Seneschal for the PM instead as PC in the 31st Cosa.

A new update!
As you may remember, when a Ziu member proposes a bill using the database, the bill is not longer automatically added to the Clark, instead, it sits in the DB with a RZ number set to 0, until the SoS can review it and confirm it is close to what it was in the hopper.
That review was strictly manual. I had to edit the raw database to fix it.
It is no longer the case! The SoS (whoever he is) can now approve a bill (giving it a RZ number) or reject it (hiding it from the form).
This is the biggest change in the DB since I was sick last year and great news about the future of the DB, since it means I am coding again for it!
