I most certainly KNOW who it is (I'm Australian). Why him though considering his (apparent) past? I know where you are going from the article but SURELY you could have chosen a better artist to show.
OK. I have no political leanings whatsoever in Talossa. I have seen some VERY close to the bone characatures(?) in Bericht that I certainly think are almost defamatory. However this post COULD very well imply (in much the same manner as the cartoons in Bericht) something that the author is not - in this case a convicted (awaiting appeal) rock spider.
Having sat back and watched the sniping, the arguements, the outright hostility between certain sections of Talossa I'm wondering if it is really worth staying a member. Yes, everyone has different views and the world, let alone Talossa is not Utopia. But when it is all said and done THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE A FUN PLACE.
I know Miestra will come out and say it is her right to defend herself. Agreed. What should ALSO happen is the mystery cartoonist should make themselves known. OK, many writers, cartoonists etc use a pen name. BUT it is usually known by many the identity of said author. THEN to two or more combatants can argue to their hearts content in private, not in forums, magazines etc. because I for one am heartily sick of this bullshit that is going on. I have no doubts that the Israeli - Palestinian conflict will be easier to solve but please try and solve this elsewhere.
Yours from a non partisan observer.

No, the photo of Rolf Harris is only to do with his "Can you guess what it is yet?" catchphrase. I explicitly deny any accusations of rockspidery (that's Australian for "Pedobear", in case others were wondering) in the caption to the photo.

I completely understand that. Any accusation (implied or otherwise) that you inferred that the cartoonist in question is of dubious sexual leanings is NOT intended. I was just asking if there were better cartoonists you could have used AND the possible inferences that could have been drawn (pardon the pun) by using this person's photo.
I am deeply sorry for any offence taken and it certainly was not intended.

Perhaps in a similar Antipodial theme you could have used something equally as anonymous to the world in general such as Mr Squiggle? Again in the "Can you guess what it is Miss Pat" but without ANY conotations being used against you. Even better - being of a puppetry bent, Mr Squiggle could possibly have furthered your arguements?

I was born in 1960. Mr Squiggle was BIG in Australia (and I thought NZ) in the 60's. Maybe TOO old for you :-). Wiki him for a little bit more info.

I'm glad Miestra made it clear in the article that the picture relates only to the catch-phrase, otherwise there could have been a misunderstanding.

I have an article pending review! It's rather different from the type of article I write for BT. This one is an historical research, something I can't do as much for BT since BT has a limit of words, while ETT allows me (I think), to publish articles as long or as short as I want to.
