Announcement: Fourth MRPT congress.

Azul fellow Talossans,

The fourth congress of the Moderate Radical Party will convene in about a week. We have an interesting period behind us, in which the MRPT took responsibility for governing the nation, leading a four party coalition which has brought Talossa forward. But we are not finished yet. There is still a lot we want to achieve. The congress is the time for us to evaluate and for new and old members to steer the party in the direction we want to take in the coming term.

Time and place.
The congress will as usually be held on the public part of the MRPT forum (modrads.proboards.com) and will start on the 10th of April. A full agenda will soon be published. Talossans who are interested and are not members of the MRPT are welcome to create a guest account and comment during the congress.

Senate elections
Somewhere around the end of the event, the MRPT will consider endorsements for the coming senatorial elections. If you wish to run in your province and want the endorsement of the MRPT, please announce your candidacy before May 1st Candidates will be given the opportunity to speak at the congress.

Joining the MRPT.
The MRPT is looking for new members. With the congress coming up this is the perfect opportunity for you to join. All new members will have full voting rights at the congress to vote on the party manifesto and candidate lists. I was heartened by C. Carlüs Xheraltescù 's speech to us last year. It set the stage for a wonderfully cordial and productive year for the Coalition.

Sounds like a threat. I call upon the ModRads to exclude the possibility that they will allow the RUMP into government next time. The people have the right to know whether a vote for MRPT is a vote for Seneschál Alex D.

I dont speak for the MRPT, but I would find it very unwise to do make such definitive statements about coalition negotiations before the election results are even known yet.
But before you make calls on other parties, has the FDA definitely ruled out a coalition with the RUMP?

Either way a vote for the MRPT will be a vote for the MRPT platform, MRPT candidates and MRPT government, not for Alex D., Miestrâ S. or Carlüs X. Just like last time and the time before that.

Well your proposition is not too far from being a threat either. It's pretty obvious that a vote for MRPT is a vote for Seneschal Lüc da Schir, for the MRPT's manifesto planks and for an active, stable government.

So you're both saying that you might go into government with the RUMP next time. Well, hope you let all the voters know this.

If I have any say in the matter, and I do, the Free Democrats will definitely not do so. I ideally want a repeat of the current Coalition in the next Cosâ, and I'm shocked and appalled that one of our partner parties wants to cut loose to see if the A. Davinescù Ego Gratification Party will offer them a better deal.

If you want a repeat of the current coalition led by an MRPT Seneschal, you should really consider voting MRPT
(Though I guess technically it wouldn't be the same coalition as the ZRT and LibCons now operate as one party.)

Anyway, you're shocked and appalled that another independent party, looking to get the best deal for the voters who support its platform, does not already form a government with you before the voters have even been heard? I find that hard to believe.

You see, alternance in government was only an important political principle when the ZRT was out of government. Now that the ZRT is in government, the new important political principle is keeping those treacherous oppositionists as far away from power as possible.
