The monkeys throwing poo aren't funny? The "this parade is now illegal" reference to Northern Ireland isn't funny? De gustibus non est disputandum, I suppose. But even more wow, the above is something I could have posted, myself. Referring to your contributions to both politics and journalism, and your pig-headed refusal to countenance any change in things from "just the way you liked it" when your RUMP buddies were in charge and nothing could stop you. Well, I like James but he's a bit afraid of conflict sometimes. Seriously: you've ruined others' fun for a long time and this is blowback. Why can't you change your ways? Why wouldn't you change your ways in the absence of Rough Music? You thought you could provide a platform for anonymous slander and no-one would take you to task for it?

The monkeys throwing poo aren't funny? That one, I'll give you. It made me smile. That one I didn't find amusing, but maybe because a) I didn't know the cultural context of the reference, and b) I didn't feel it was warranted regardless; no one in the RUMP saw fit to interrupt the ZRT convention by posting random "satirical" pictures. (Although AD was chased out of the ZRT convention after being invited to speak.) Are you saying two wrongs make a right? Are you implying that you're justified in being mean to someone because they were mean to you? Doesn't the Qur'an say something about forgiveness? «And let them pardon and overlook. Would you not like that Allah should forgive you? And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.» (24:22) <pedantic>Slander is spoken. If anything, it's libel.</pedantic> And you might be able to prove libel if there's a way to take Mildew himself to task, which there may very well be, but that's a lawyer-y question.

I think one of the weaknesses about this form of protest, Miestra, is that there is a certain lack of a sense of event in it. In a protest, or demonstration, there is usually a sense of event. A sense that after this, things will be different. Zizek talks about this concept of event, and I have to say that it seems to fit the bill. After a demonstration, things change. Either the policy/regime/whatever is removed or the group moves forward in new solidarity. But it is, above all, an event. It is a thing that happens and then isn't anymore.
I would ask, do you think that this is going to work? Knowing the players involved, is this course of action an effective one?
Methinks that the irresistable force and the immovable object are meeting. Is Talossa's peace of mind caught in between?
