Fellow Collegians and Fellow Talossans —
As His Majesty's Squirrel King or Arms, I now find myself charged with the sad duty of accepting, reluctantly but understandingly, and with the thanks of a grateful nation and of its king our liege, the resignation tendered us by Penzance Pursuivant from the office of Dean of the Royal Talossan College of Arms. To my friend Sir Mick, much thanks and gratitude are given for the able administration of the College during his tenure as its Dean. As His Majesty has often said, the College of Arms is a point of pride for our nation and its most recent Dean has laboured long and hard to ensure so successfully that it remain so.
The task also falls to me to fill the sadly vacated office, and I thank all those many members of the College who have contacted me about this situation and been willing to give of themselves to ensure the future of the College is secure. I have decided to confer the office of Dean of the College upon our Kingsbridge Pursuivant, effective this day. Kingsbridge and I have discussed my expectations of him in this role and he stands ready to fulfill them.
