I do note that only 2 people (one of whom is the Head of State who abstains on principle) have voted publicly yet. This is a good sign that the masses want the secret ballot. And also that Ben-Ard will vote for whomever promises him seats.

Well, we should figure out a way to do this. If need be, we can ask someone else to send the reminder emails. It would need to be someone IN the SoS office or the Cort, because I am not allowed, as far I as know, to reveal who voted and who didn't until the end of the election... Or, Baron Hooligan could open his SMTP port so I could send the reminders thru his SMTP server....

What? No, you wouldn't reveal who voted. Just send a reminder email to everyone to let them know to check their spam folders. If you don't know how to do that in a way that won't also get put into their spam folders, maybe one of the other Chancery folks knows how?

Oh... stupid me, I didn't think of such a simple solution... Dope... My goal was to send the ballot again after a few days only to those who didn't vote, with all of their ballot information, but this time, from another SMTP server. I have a few... I am president of a web hosting company. Such a delicate subject can't be handled outside, but a mass email to EVERYONE has no sensitive info. In all cases, I will send the reminders in 2 or 3 days. There are still people voting today, so it's a little early to send it. Still, I am rather impressed with the turn-out so far. I won't comment more, but I am quite happy for the first 36 hours of the election.

Is there any legal reason not to release turnout information during the election? Obviously you wouldn't want to provide a breakdown by party, but I'm not aware of anything in the law that would prevent you from stating how many citizens have voted so far.

It would be pretty difficult to provide a breakdown per party anyway given that the Chancery doesn't have a record of party membership.

I meant a breakdown of the number of votes cast for each party.

And also that Ben-Ard will vote for whomever promises him seats. I stick to what I claim. Since I had always advocated public voting, it would have been wrong on my part to vote secretly. In fact secret voting creates a problem to the RUMP priciples which state that anyone voting for RUMP would be a RUMPer... now some people in order to secure some favours may declare themselves to be RUMPers without actually being so. I doubt whether the 'honour code' would be followed in reality. I have not sought a seat from the RUMP in the Cosa. I am contesting for the Senate seat from Maricopa against another RUMPer, so whosoever wins would not be entitled to be a member of the Cosa in any case. However if I am considered as a member of the Government to be formed, then I would definitely request for only a seat, so that I can lay rest my rump, whenever I am called to make a statement. Even in the last Cosa, I chose to have just a single seat (while I could have had more) so that I could enter the Ziu and make my statements whenever the need arose. In the past I have had problems as ethically and morally I felt that a non Ziu member should not enter it. Thus I had submitted my response to Parliamentary Questions through my Cabinet colleagues. Therefore my single seat in the Cosa was more a step towards governmental responsibility rather than individual dreams. I always vied for the role of the role of the AG, and it was a pleasure serving effectively three Seneschals. I was a MC during the term of the last Seneschal only. Had I been asked to resign, I would have quit my Cosa seat in favour of the party leader (for re-assignment or whatever). As a member of the previous Governments I was not considered for a seat in the Cosa, and so be it.

When I like a public vote, it doesn't mean I like it, it means I have officially entered it.

I was told that secret vote also meant that the voter turnout was secret until the end of the election, and possibly after.
