Here, for your reference, is the Manifesto we stood on in the last Ziu elections.

What parts should we keep, what should be deleted, and what should be added? Please note that the Central Committee that we elect will also be empowered to amend the Manifesto.

We need to amend our candidate lists and our Shadow Cabinet. During the next general election there will also be Senatorial elections held in the provinces of Fiova, Benito, Maricopa and Maritiimi and if any of our members wish to be endorsed in these provinces, we should sort out those endorsements now.

Fiôvâ. What an interesting question. What do party-comrades think of the performance of the incumbent? If he wants to run again, should we give him ZRT endorsement or try to knock him out in favour of someone whom we can give orders to? ;-)

Whilst I don't think there's anything wrong with the incumbent, S:reu da Dhi's statistical analysis of votes cast in the Ziu had Senator Anglatzara voting more closely with RUMP (85%) than with us Goats (60%). I think we should see if any of our number fancy standing first.

Eh, I'd step up to the plate, although I lost last time. And you just know that a certain Peculiarist of ursine persuasion will also have another go, so I'm not sure how that effects the electoral calculus.

Some proposals for addition to the manifesto on the marketing/cultural front:

The production of attractive plaques (in the form of “governmental recognition”, “Royal Warrant”, or otherwise) which may be awarded to valued institutions and businesses, such as the Repaire des Corsaires café on Cézembre, or Hooligan's Super Bar in Florencia.

To promote Talossa online, the sponsorship of legislation providing for the appointment of authorised “ambassadors” to various social media sites, forums, and the like who are ready to answer, in an official capacity, any questions about Talossa, its history, the citizenship process, and so on.

To promote Talossan culinary culture, a “Talossan Recipe of the Month” scheme, where the Ministry of Culture invites citizens to make a specific recipe of Talossan heritage (such as a tagine, baba ghanoush, Taco-Bell-style taco) and to post pictures and appraisals of said, to eventually be combined into a book of recipes, pictures, and appraisals.

To promote Talossan literary culture, offer a title in the peerage of Cézembre to anyone who completes an original 50,000 word novel which is either: in the Talossan language; about a strongly Talossan theme; or about Talossa. If this is not possible under current law, change the law such that it is possible.

A government-sponsored Inter-Provincial Games, where representatives of the eight provinces compete in various online games (including board games such as chess), as well as in contests of poetry and art.

a) I'm not handing out anything Royal. You mean "State Warrant".

b) Sending ambassadors out with AMA remit sounds good.

c) Should Republicans be offering peerages? I'm not sure we should recognize any decoration higher than UrN.

Anyway. I'm giving it until Friday (Talossan Standard Time) for debate on Óin's proposals, and for any more proposals; we'll move to voting at that point.
