Maybe those are the lucky ones who can escape from the gravity and addictiveness of the planet Talossa before it is too late!

Obvious solution: all proclamations by the Chancery shall henceforth be issued in Latin, er, I mean Old Talossan. Problem solved, right? 'Cause then "fifth" would would be in the nominative case and not genitive, which it would be if it were "King John V."

Alternatively, I suppose I could just use Talossan, since "John V" would be Ian Simca, whereas "of the reign of... King John the fifth" would be del röineu da... Regeu Ian el quintéu.

Or "King John" could be dative, as in "Won't someone please buy King John the fifth?"

"Won't someone please buy King John the fifth?" The fifth of scotch? The fifth of vodka? The fifth of rum? What's your pleasure Your Majesty? I've been in a rum mood lately. And like Sir Iusti said, Lord Hooligan has got it.

It's Great Lent. I'm afraid we'll have to do with a fifth of Diet Coke for now.

Great Lent? You mean the Orthodox have Lesser Lent, too? One Lent isn’t enough?

Great Lent? You mean the Orthodox have Lesser Lent, too? One Lent isn’t enough? They've got the Great Lent (with different timing relative to Easter than the West uses) before Easter, and the Winter Lent/Nativity Fast before Christmas (while Western churches have dropped the custom of fasting in the also-differently-timed Advent).

Speaking of beer, did you hear about the Lenten beer diet? I think he kept a blog. But he drank only beer during Lent - no food. He even had permission from his job to drink his lunch at work. He lost a bunch of weight too but in a healthy way. I'd love to give that a shot, but I'd have to not be on flying orders. Or on a boat. Maybe I'll seek orders to the War College or Postgrad School, heh.
