Ah, interesting. In the interests of our burgeoning national harmony, I will postpone further discussion until somewhat later, but it's definitely something I'm eager to talk about.

Apologies for coming into this discussion a bit late. I know I've chimed in elsewhere on this, but just thought I'd take a moment to expand.
The Peculiarist recognizes and embraces the vagaries of the Talossan situation, particularly the opportunities presented by Talossa's status as a micronation (or nationette if you prefer). When a country becomes small enough, and its infrastructure and founding purpose shift from that which is traditionally considered the norm for nations, the conditions which govern it shift accordingly. Peculiarism seeks to exploit those conditions.
An excellent example comes down to political structure and requirements in a small nation like Talossa. Because of size, small-group dynamics hold sway as opposed to the dynamics of larger groups. Hurt feelings, sarcasm, the response of old to new members, etc.. etc.. all hold more sway than they would in a macronation. Thus to rhetorically eviscerate your opponent may do more harm than good. In this, a nation like Talossa has more in common with something akin to a Rebekah Lodge or Scout Troop than a nation like, say, the Republic of Ireland, or even San Marino or the Hutt River Province Principality.
Aside from and corollary to the small-group nature of Talossa, there must also be a figure which I call "the majordomo." In Talossa, this figure was long occupied by KRI. But efficient operation seems to demand that there be someone with the stature, time, and energy to keep things running. This isn't an official position, and actually draws most of its influence from the fact that it is not. But this is the person who not only does 1000 odd jobs for their nation, but also tells folks when to "back off" or what have you. It is a subtle, nuanced position... one which I am still trying to fully formulate, but I am convinced it exists and is one explanation for the basic structure of micronational politics, where a majority party sits for long periods due not to policy, but to personnel, and that this is necessary.
All of this has always meant, to me, that Peculiarist Talossa should transcend its fetishization of certain elements. Land claims are only one of the simplest examples, but they are one. Culturally, we stream forth from Milwaukee. But, at the same time, only a handful of us can claim to have ever been there... even fewer on an actual haxh. It takes on more the status of an ancestral homeland and Talossans a diasporic people. But here I am getting off on a tangent about a specific element and away from the central philosophy.
Peculiarism had its roots in Lorentz's attempts to make Talossa less consuming of his friend's life. A new, synthetic Peculiarism takes that initial impulse and leavens it with the facts of the cybercit situation and internet boom.
