Thank you for stopping by! Yes, of course we too are delighted at the prospect of reunionisation. I checked out your comments, and they are very well-put. For us here in Maritiimi-Maxhestic (the best of all provinces, as proven by empirical science in a study that I have misplaced but which definitely exists), I believe I speak for everyone when I say that we are interested in a compromise solution that everyone can be happy with. Just as we know and understand that the Republic strongly values its independent culture and vibrant spirit, and wishes to retain it, so too do we value our culture and spirit, and wish to preserve them. The only reason that the territorial question matters to us is because it is a vital part of those values. The Assembly has conferred, and naturally enough our preference for the question of the eighth province is for one of the other Provinces to be divided - I presented one particular plan of such a case. However, we recognize that Maritiimi-Maxhestic is singularly awesome in so many ways, and it's just natural that the Republic knows that and wishes to reunionise in part of what is currently our territory. We are definitely willing to make real concessions and reach an amicable compromise.
I think it is perfectly possible to work something out that the Assembly can vote on, in advance, and approve (an Organic requirement for territorial alteration). I speak now mostly for myself, although I think that S:reu Lorentzescu, an eminent member of the Assembly and former Grand General Secretary, mostly is thinking the same way. With that caveat, what is important to me is that:
I hope that you find this a workable proposition, and that the Republic sees this as a reasonable stance from which to begin. Again, let me assure you that we wish to be fair and very welcoming, and that we are nothing but delighted at this joining together of the two Talossan cultures. I know that I personally have been a figure of some contention and focus for irritation in the Republic in the past, something perhaps reflected in the recent reference to the "Alexander Davises" of the Kingdom seen on the Republic message board. But I like to think that such things are in the past, and have already made a personal effort to reach out to your President and express my happiness for this event and my regrets at any past conflict. It is a very wonderful thing.

- We wish that Maritiimi-Maxhestic shall retain its essential cultural identity. Central to this is the union of the two component provinces, joined decades ago. Accordingly...
- It is important that the territory of Maritiimi and what was Port Maxhestic be in some fashion retained, at least partially. It would be mummery, for example, if we retained the name but ceded all the territory. Obviously, though, probably at least half of Port Maxhestic (one of its two component cantons) would be necessary to cede so that it in turn would possess that same symbolic importance.
- Should the Republic choose to simply join our province, temporarily or permanently, we would be unhappy to see your culture - Republican and Penguinean - replace ours. But neither do we insist on simple assimilation. Instead, a rich mélange of both cultures can exist in sometime-contention and sometime-harmony.
