I mean if, like in the Duke's case, they don't wish to retain their citizenship, they should be able to keep their peerage in honor of their service to the nation. Well, they aren't prohibited from formally renouncing their citizenship. This isn't a means of trapping people. If someone doesn't want to remain a Talossan, why would they want to keep their title? As a sign of respect.

All right. The King's suggestions are well taken. So, as I see it...three possibilities.
1. JP's suggestion, we kill the three strikes rule 2. We create some sort of super-citizenship award for exemplary citizens to remain citizens forever. Separate from our peerage system, we have no conflicts with the covenants. 3. We do absolutely nothing. If someone strikes out and we really like them, the King can grant them clemency.
Thoughts?

I'm against removing the 3 strikes rule.
If for nothing else, the logistics of running a General Election would become very unwieldy.
The Citizens list would stretch into pages, and I don't even want to think about the Email concerns.
The other two, I'm good with either one.

I lean toward #3, though I don't mind #2 as well. Although I understand the evil origins of the 3-strike rule, I tend to favor it based on its own merits. As for the Duke, he has made a conscious choice to separate himself from the Kingdom, and we must honor that. Remaining a citizen is very very (very very) easy, so if someone actually decides to revoke their citizenship by not voting, I take it to be for a deliberate reason, and believe we must allow it.

I'm leaning that way also.
So, I'm inclined to scrap the whole idea, say our current system is fine.
Anyone have any other suggestions before I scrap heap this one?

If we get something positive out of every piece of scrapped legislation, we'll be in good shape.
