I do think it should be available to all citizens in their native language if they are not fluent in English. We don't require people to speak one of the official languages to become a citizen - and nor should we.

I am saying that for maximum utility, if we are aware of citizens not being able to use either English or Talossan, we should have the option of printing it in other languages. Is there a law that PREVENTS a bill from containing a translation? I do think it should be available to all citizens in their native language if they are not fluent in English. We don't require people to speak one of the official languages to become a citizen - and nor should we. I agree we should not REQUIRE a citizen to speak one of our official languages, but are we now going to REQUIRE that a proposer of a bill learn EVERY language that is a 'native' language of a citizen? I ABSOLUTELY OPPOSE ANY REQUIREMENT THAT ANY BILL BE TRANSLATED TO ANY LANGUAGE OTHER THAN OUR OFFICIAL LANGUAGES. I see nothing wrong with them being translated, but it should not be our RESPONSIBILITY to provide that translation.

Could someone explain the name of this proposal? I'm trying, but I'm missing something.

Could someone explain the name of this proposal? I'm trying, but I'm missing something. It takes it name from the "Domesday Book" . England, 1086. They went around and counted everything for the King.

I just said that it MIGHT be useful.

So you were using the alternate form of mandate meaning, completely optional? I guess it depends on what your definition of "is" is.

I do not think that the languages thing should be included in the text of the bill, but again I would point out that this is to the discretion of the capable official tapped to do (or delegate) this effort. If he or his adjunct cannot get a response from someone who is most able with Italian, I trust that they will have the good sense to act accordingly. I wish to tie their hands as little as possible.

I thought he suggested having the survey itself, which we expect everyone to answer, translated into other languages.

Perhaps I misinterpreted the direction the discussion was headed, if so I apologize, and to the Honorable MC Forestál, the strength of my response was not intended as a reproach, simply the ferocity of emotion involved.
