As was pointed out to me, I was out of order when originally submitting the You Are What You Drink Act as the Nimlet was not in session at the time. Therefore, I resubmit this act slightly ammended to more gloriously honor our Talossan heritage.
WHEREAS Provinces have official things like the official provincial flag and the official provincial motto, and
WHEREAS Provinces can also have other official things like the official provincial bird, and
WHEREAS Birds are nice and all, but
WHEREAS I'd rather have an official provincial something that has more relevance to my daily life, now
THEREFORE, we establish the official provincial beverage of Florencia to be Milwaukee's Best brewed by Miller Brewing Company of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA; the official provincial beverage for cybercits of Florencia to be Fat Tire Amber Ale brewed by New Belgium Brewery of Fort Collins, Colorado, USA; and the official provincial beverage for dandilions of Florencia to be an extra malty chocolate malt prepared by any reputable soda jerk.

[The Governor recognises Shepherd Laira's proposal.]I recognise Shepherd Laira's proposal. And in a not-so-stunning show of bipartisan friendship, I happily give it my support. Thirsty Florencians will be quite pleased to quench their thirst with an official beverage that is prepared and packaged so near the heart of our province (if I may humbly term my barony thus, and yes I may). In fact, a mere 6 miles -- a short drive down the Maritiimi-Maxhestic coast -- can bring the parched Florencian relief straight from the source. Shepherd Laira is commended for tending to the interests of Florencian Cybercits and Dandelions as well. This bill seems quite well thought-out, and I cannot wait to properly toast its passage. I yield the floor. [The Governor sits down, dry.]

[The Governor ahems, and stands.]
The vote on this measure is 12-0. The Shepherds who have not voted are urged to do so.

They don't exist anymore. I think they were part of Prohibition or the Great Depression or something like that. We don't actually know, because they hadn't invented photography then.

I bet King John knows.
He was probably there.
Or, at least a little late to the event.

Fellow Shepherds, it seems rather strange to make the official provincial drink for Dandelions in Florencia one that is no longer available. I suggest that we change it to one that can actually be drunk. Other than that, it has my full support.

Senator Davis's remark that the extra malty chocolate malt is no longer available was made in jest; a good chocolate malt can be had at any number of locations all over the world. It's very much like a milkshake, just...a lot maltier. If you've never had a malt, just imagine a bunch of Whoppers malted milk balls crushed and mixed into a milkshake. (In fact, just do that and you'll have made yourself a malt.) Any self-respecting 1950's style diner will brag that they serve malts, not shakes. If you're looking for a local place to get a malt, one national (and by "national" I mean the U.S., not Talossa, darn it -- no locations in our nation) chain that proudly serves them is Sonic.

And thank God for that! I don't think we have any Sonics out here. My wife just mentioned to me how she wishes there was a local Sonic. We miss them from when we lived in Florida. The biggest chain here that offers malts is Carl's Jr., a Southern California classic. Hardee's might, too, since they're owned by the same company. Speaking of Carl's Jr., I just now found out that its founder, Carl Karcher, passed away last month. Very sad.

I'll vote with you all, but I must point out that for cybercits who are not near Ft. Collins or Milwakee, it is espescially painful to think about the cold, fresh goodness of a fat tire amber ale. I must now go drown my sorrows in a micro-bre local to the East or South of our big neighbor.

They sell Fat Tire here in Southern California. It's one of my favourites now.

I should have known, considering who was saying it. Grr... I have never seen a Sonic or had a malt. I don't really see anything distinctively Florencian about chocolate malts though, especially since they can't even be gotten in our fair province. Could we consider another possibility?
