Cezembrians, what do you think of me making a trip to Cezembre itself next year (2009)? Perhaps the Finance Ministry could help offset the costs.
I would plant a Talossan flag, have a picnic, and sing the national anthem.
If there's a yes to this, I'll introduce it in the Assembly after the Constitution is passed, then bring it on to national leve.

An interesting idea but perhaps ahead of its time?

Hardly. King Robert I and his then PM visited Cezembre. Summer of 09 is a good time ahead to plan for a picnic.
However, if you have other concerns, please map them out - I obviously don't want to slip on any banana peels as this goes forward etc!
Thanks for the input.

With such important projects as the stamp and coin project coming up very soon, we will have to fund those. I don't know that the cost could be offset, but I am sure everyone would love to see this happen if you could do so anyway. I wonder if you would be able to visit both cantons of the island, or if they will have new barbed wire up?

I'd take wirecutters, lol.
I would have to investigate that on the ground, really. I would have thought they'd have repaired the wire as part of a general checkup over the 20 years...
I'd try my best!

You know, the reason they have barbed wire is to stop you from getting killed by an unexploded landmine. I think the FM peninsular is safe, but I wouldn't take any chances.

As previously suggested (a couple of years ago) it would be useful to obtain high resolution (<= 1m) resolution imagery of our fair isle - I think the going rate was then around 75 Euros. talossa.proboards32.com/index.cgi?board=czembre&action=display&thread=3116This would provide appropriate mapping resources to our intrepid adventurers, including perhaps hardcopy as well as the ability to put said map on a device such as a gps, phone, or mp3 player with a digital display.

If you do go, be sure to recruit this guy.He could entice more prospective Cézembrians (and Talossans) with his delicious seafood. E

Agreed. Though it looks like he's a squatter on His Majesty's territory, I think he's providing a service, and would I even bet that the King might allow him to hang a shingle "By Appointment to His Majesty the King of Talossa" (or however that would be said in French) -- perhaps you could present him with such a plaque when you make your trip, Òûü'éñ!

If he's living there, then that would make him a Cestour. If not, he's simply a legal visitor
