The SoS doesn't like extraneous comments in the official election thread, so I'll start a new one!
We just passed the number of votes (48) from the last election. So that's good. But we'll need another 5 or 6 to beat last election's turnout. Since we're only halfway into the election right now, I think we have a decent shot of doing that.
One interesting development is Sir Fritz's vote for the LRT -- a big coup for them. The biggest question left in the election is what will happen to the rest of the DOTT vote. Will they sit this election out, follow Sir Fritz's lead to the LRT, go for another party, or stage a write-in campaign?

That's an interesting question. I was quite surprised and at the same time extremely happy that Sir Fritz decided to vote LRT. Unfortunately, his computer won't let him access Witt so he can't tell us himself, but I am very much hoping that the other DOTTers/ex-Clippers will follow suit and vote LRT. If we can get that vote it will much narrow the gap between the RUMP and LRT.

We now have 54 votes in, giving this election the highest absolute number of votes of any Talossan election ever, surpassing the 51 ballots cast in the 28th and 36th Cosa elections, and in the June 2006 referendum election. Wait, I take that back -- we don't know for sure how many votes were cast in the 33rd Cosa election, because the then-SoS (S:reu Furxeir) took the results offline before they could be archived. But I'd bet it was less than 51.

I think it would be a great idea to do an election recap in the Voice or the Gazette after the 14th.

The editor-in-chief of the Voice has reportedly lost interest, so if someone else wanted to do a recap I am sure he would hand over the reins. Maybe one of you will be the next Reporter-of-the-Month? I still miss Vitz Afacat

I still miss Vitz Afacat Same here! He seemed to have so much enthusiasm, then just disappeared completely. I wonder what the heck happened to him.

It has been truly interesting to see that votes have been divided fairlt well so far between parites, and it is even more positive to see that people are even more active during the elections and that they actually vote. I'm still hoping that bigger amount of people would vote so we could get as high amount of voters as possible, but yeah we still got plenty of time left

Ian, I don't think it's beyond reason to admit that the present governing party has retained a massive share of the votes. Certainly, the vote share amongst the minor parties has been interesting and heartening.

Certainly, the vote share amongst the minor parties has been interesting and heartening. I think it is important to observe that unlike other parties, one party in specific has 90% of their votes coming from new citizens. Now, I am not saying anything happened, but I do question whether or not a citizen who has just been approved full understands the complexity of talossan politics enough, or a citizen that has been here for a meager 3 months, to cast a vote that is truly what is best or Talossa.
