Wouldn't it be cool if Talossa had an employment agency? They could scout people for vacancies submitted by government agencies, organisations, parties, whatever and at the same time advise new citizens on things to do in Talossa.

This definitely seems like a good idea. We could sync it with the NCC so that new citizens (and even prospectives) could be matched up with a job that interested them and motivated them to stick around.

I like it! This would help citizens find a place for sure! One thing I remember from becoming a citizen is that I wasn't sure what to do with myself after I got in.

This could honestly be a worthwhile project for the next government. I would certainly be interested in putting it in an hypothetical agenda, and in eventually setting it up.

Why wait? I thought it's trendy nowadays to boost non-governmental grassroots activity in Talossa. This is a perfect opportunity to kickstart something like this. Let's envision, for example, the Independent Talossan Activity Centre. The purpose of ITAC is to:
1) Find activities that can, need and should be done in the Kingdom of Talossa. 2) Help those who have ideas meet those who are willing to help make them brought to reality. 3) Help prospective and new citizens develop an enthusiastic and active perception of Talossa. ITAC is by definition a non-governmentally run entity. The structure of ITAC is as follows:- a democratically elected head of ITAC; - volunteers of ITAC. ITAC should be designed to be as less bureaucratized as possible. It should be a hive, a hub, not a string of cabinets. The framework of ITAC is such:
- ITAC holds a list of work to be done publicly available and is in charge of it. Citizens, other organizations, parties and the government can propose ideas to be put in the list. The head of ITAC cannot withhold proposed ideas, because the Centre merely maintains the list, not censors it. - Both citizens and prospective citizens can enroll to fulfil the work or activity or adventure, you name it. - ITAC not only maintains the Roll, it's members also actively reach out for people who they feel would be interested to fulfil a task, work or participate in an activity. - ITAC collaborates with NCC and other organizations that are meant to promote activities. - ITAC is set to communicate with new citizens and prospectives and find out their ideas and desires on what they would want to do in Talossa. - Periodic recognition, honoring and rewarding of the most involved and active citizens is a must! (Gluc's idea of rewards of some kind needs to be incorporated here). The core principle behind ITAC is to concentrate the activity in order to gain the needed critical mass of citizens doing stuff, that critical mass that makes a difference between dead Talossa and living Talossa. Thoughts?

I only proposed to let it be a government run project because I thought that most of the positions that needed to be filled were somewhat linked to it, but this is actually a better idea, and it would be much more transparent. If the NCC was brought up to full activity we could basically have a continuous chain of associations dedicated to prospective and new citizens.

Although the idea has evolved somewhat, the original proposal sounded a lot like what the Civil Service Commissiob was supposed to do. So how do you make this succeed where the CSC has failed?
