THE LOCAL SENATE ELECTIONS ACT
WHEREAS we have just made our provincial elections, well, provincial, and
WHEREAS we just need to make our Senate elections local in order to have complete autonomy from the Chancery, and
WHEREAS Instant Runoff elections are far superior to First-Past-the-Post
THEREFORE Section 4 is added to the Election Act, which reads;
Senate elections for Maritiimi-Maxhestic shall be held simultaneously to national elections. During the week preceding the election, the Maximally Magnificent Majordomo shall call for those wishing to run for Senate to make public both their candidacy and a 50-word statement. At the start of the election, the Maximally Magnificent Majordomo shall open the voting, and voters shall rank the candidates in preference order. The rules of Instant Runoff Voting (Alternate Voting) shall be used to determine the winner.

I'm not sure I agree with us holding the elections at a provincial level for a national level...

We tried to host elections one time at the provincial level. We had an insanely low number of voters. It's (not) fine if people don't want to get involved in province politics.
Should those citizens not be able to elect their national representation if they don't pay attention to provincial politics?

We can have the chancery put a note on the ballot saying that Senate elections for M-M are conducted provincially. Anyway, it's not like the notice would be buried deep in the Assembly thread. It would be it's own event with a week of buildup and two weeks of voting. Even one glance at our sub-board would suggest we were holding Senate elections.

Sometimes even a glance is too much for most people. I think that the Senate election should remain with the Chancery at this point in time. Something we can do maybe down the road... after we get our provincial government up and running.

It already is up and running. We have 4 different threads and have already passed a bill. Plus, if we do it ourselves, prospective Senators can issue 50-word statements, and we can use IRV instead of the traditional method (which is dumb).

The fact that they'd elect a representative whose representation ties them specifically to their Province, and yet not bother to pay attention for even a moment to the state of their regional government is absurd

I oppose giving the GGS any real power or authority (not anything to do with the current holder of the office, of course, but it's supposed to be literally just a figurehead position). Might I suggest we do as we did last time, and appoint a Maximally Magnificent Majordomo to run elections, instead?

THE RIGHTFULLY OURS ACT
WHEREAS There seems to be some doubt as to whether or not Maritiimi-Maxhestic can claim ownership of the Historic Water Tower, and
WHEREAS We conducted a completely legitimate deal with Vuode concerning this, and
WHEREAS That deal gives us ownership of the Water Tower, and
WHEREAS Vuode will shortly become part of Maritiimi-Maxhestic anyway, and
WHEREAS It is unlikely that Vuodeans could suitably appreciate the Water Tower even if they did have a claim to it
THEREFORE Maritiimi-Maxhestic hereby reaffirms it's rightful claim to the Historic Water Tower, while also recognizing Vuode's claim to the water contained within the Tower.
