Oh, and I think Ian is right. I'm definitely not going to draft that, since I think it stands virtually no chance of helping in a real crisis, and I don't want to give any such effort my support. If I can't convince people of the dangers, I want the history books to at least show that I didn't help make them worse.

Thank you for your contributions to this debate. I have one final question to the people of Maritiimi-Maxhestic:
should I vote for the "Automatic Votes Validation Amendment", or against it? Because while the bill, as Sir Davinescu says, may have been expressed a bit confusingly, it does not mean that the amendment would not have merit. I, therefore, wish to ask you for a definitive answer, or at least something similar.
You may also gladly chime in on anything else you deem important. I will cast my vote on Thursday, the 16th of July, around 2359 CEST (= GMT+2).

Certifying the recent election took a whole month, while B.13.2 dictates that it should take no more than one week. Obviously the election commission needs some helps and this amendment seems to be that help. If it doesn't work we can revise it, but we shouldn't block it for being a bit confusing.

Well, there are two issues... it's numbered improperly, so it will need another bill just to fix the formatting. The Scribe is legally bound to put it into the law exactly as it appears. And it also puts a whole lot more stuff into the OrgLaw than is necessary to solve this problem, and we'll almost certainly have to amend those specific things, as well. Don't forget... this is an amendment. If it passes, we have to wait a year to fix it.

Well, I didn't think of that. I already voted yes for it, though.

Well, I still think having to fix a formatting error is better than having to wait 3 extra weeks for the election to get certified. Can a fix be proposed next Clark?

No, since the amendment has to wait for referendum. You can't amend a law before it has been fully passed, and that means it has to wait until the first Clark of the next term. And then that fix will only get passed in the election after that. So any fix will only take place in a year. Well, actually more than a year... six months remain in this term, then a month of election, then seven months for the next term, then a month of election. So a year and three months, actually.
Amendments are serious.

I have made my decision about the Automatic Vote Validation Amendment: I will have to vote it down, for technical reasons:
It seeks to introduce a subsection into the Organic Law, which is not a thing throughout the OrgLaw. I just really like my Codes of Law orderly.

I have to admit, I was skeptical about this consultation, given how absent you were last term, Epic. But credit where credit is due: you asked your province about the matter, listened to us, and came to a considered judgment. Even if you had ended up disagreeing with me about RZ1, I really feel like you'd have honestly considered the opinions of the citizens you represent. Well done.
