Is there anything like a running count of votes for this election? (For example most other countries announce the progress of voting as it goes along listing the leaders, etc.) Um...that only happens AFTER the balloting has ended in just about every country that I can think of. Keeping a tally of votes during an election would skew the election and depress turnout.

I'm keeping track of the voters as I'd like to work on some sort of report on turnout and voting choices, and it's good to see that people who are not new citizens and never voted in the past few years are voting again. Oh, I made it easier! I improved the not voted page (and added it to the menu on the left) to display those that didn't vote yet... and those that did! Of course, the email address of those that did isn't hinted at. I put them, in collapsed sections. Great improvement, thanks! Well, so far we have 31 votes cast and I've been able to "guess" roughly 66% of them. I'm confident I could make a rather precise exit poll a couple of hours before the deadline.

Well, it used to happen here before we introduced the secret ballot! The chief argument against a running tally is that it helps to expose who might have voted for whom, when they have expressly sought to vote secretly - I think issues of it depressing turnout are secondary (and less of a problem in this country than elsewhere because of PR).

Is there anything like a running count of votes for this election? (For example most other countries announce the progress of voting as it goes along listing the leaders, etc.) Yes, there is! You can see it here: www.talossa.ca/files/election_result.phpOh, wait, YOU can't see it, in fact, only I can... In all countries, Galen, there is no election count until the vote is closed. What you have in the US is the Exit-Poll counts, which is when volunteers ask people outside of the poll stations who they voted for, and that's what the radio and tv station report on during the vote. In other countries, like Canada, it's actually illegal to report any polls of any kind during the vote. In the past, when elections were public, Talossa would have a running count (at least, while I was Secretary of State, I don't know what occurred between July 2004 and my return in 2013, But since the secret ballot, I found it incompatible to have a running count and a secret election.

"48th Cosa Election Vote Ballot.
Make sure your vote is received before the end of the election, at 19h30 (7h30 PM) TST on September 1st 2014."
When is the real deadline? I got a ballot and a CORRECTED ballot and both say that the deadline is somewhen in the past.

Thanks.
Btw., whether I do like Beric'ht Talossan or not (in fact I'm muchly respecting this endeavour), I'm finding it slightly irritating to see the voting thread all plastered with the oversize Beric'ht advertisements of the SoS. Kind of, the voting thread is like a ballot, and in my humble opinion there shouldn't be ads or (other) political profanities on a ballot, at least not such that are issued by an officer of the government.

Actually, I have 4 different banners, one for ett, one for bt, one for the chancery and one for the databases. one is displayed randomly each time. Refresh the page and you will see!

Of course, the email address of those that did isn't hinted at. I put them, in collapsed sections. Esteemed SoS, is there a way to add a column, color scheme, something to denote strikes on the "haven't voted yet?" No, we can't yet... since to determine strike, I need to know if they did miss any yet and since I don't see ANY votes in the last 3 elections (which should mean they lost their citizenship in the mean time), it might mean 3 things: 1 ) They are new citizens from the last 2 years or so and simply didn't vote yet (either it's their first, or they never bothered to vote) 2 ) They are old citizens who did vote in the past during the 34-44th Cosa and did lose their citizenship but returned and are in a way, like 1) above 3 ) Their last vote was in the 44th Cosa, or the 43th Cosa, but because of the change of SoS, I had no idea they had a strike and as such, they didn't lose their citizenship when they should have. Eventually, I will enter the votes for the 44th Cosa and then for the 43th, and we will have a much clearer picture. But since it took me a little over 2 hours to do the 45th Cosa yesterday, it will wait a little...

Anyway, what kind of election is it without GRAPHS?! Cosâs 35-47 (2005-2015), parties represented in stacked numbers of votes, to indicate total turnout: Cosâs 35-47 (2005-2015), parties represented in percentage of votes: Cosâs 43-47 (since just before Reunision), represented in pie-chart form: (NOTE: any party which didn't fight at least two elections is put into the OTHER category.)

And we are now roughly 24 hours into the election, and the turn out has been EXCELLENT! We have 30 voters who already cast their vote, that's right, 30! I'm keeping track of the voters as I'd like to work on some sort of report on turnout and voting choices, and it's good to see that people who are not new citizens and never voted in the past few years are voting again. They are probably voting now so that they do not loose their citizenship.

I've searched, high and low. I can'T seem to find where the referendum ballots are presented and discussed. If it's with the ballot link, I tried that... it's seems overly complicated and I will just be voting on the thread. However, I need to know what I am voting for and don't just want to abstain. I have 9hrs to free to read tonight... on my night shift... please direct me to the referendum questions. Thx.
