Cresti, don't know which specific quotes you're looking at, but most of the ones I've seen exclude VAT - so that slightly modifies stuff, obviously. But yeah, it's a lot more affordable this way. Ah, VAT. That would be a reason for making the purchase in the U.S., it seems to me. Avoiding VAT could save us a fair bit of money. Earlier you said you thought we might want to buy the tokens somewhere less "protectionist" than the U.S. What did you mean by that? The most useful site I've found for token prices and options is tokensdirect.com.

If the audience is chiefly international, shipping cost, shipping times, and fees relating to export/import are notably higher (to the UK) than pretty much anywhere else in the world. If the audience is chiefly US-based, having them minted and posted from within the US makes most sense.

If the audience is chiefly international, shipping cost, shipping times, and fees relating to export/import are notably higher (to the UK) than pretty much anywhere else in the world. If the audience is chiefly US-based, having them minted and posted from within the US makes most sense. A slight majority of citizens are within the US I don't know that I'd expect the location of coin buyers to be significantly different. There will almost certainly be far more US buyers than from any other single country, which means if shipments are made from the US a higher proportion will be domestic v. international. Even with international shipments, I had assumed that the UK would have an advantage over the US when it comes to shipping to the rest of the world, but that doesn't seem to be the case. It turns out that if you're sticking a few coins in an envelope and sending them first-class mail, postage to continental Europe is just a few cents more from the US, and postage anywhere else in the world appears to be less. Of course delivery time to Europe would be longer even if postage costs are about the same. Import-related fees need to be considered too, but the most obvious way to minimize those is to have as many shipments as possible occurring within a single country. Which means the US. Anyways, most countries have exceptions to customs duties, VAT, etc., for small purchases. I think for the UK, no duties or VAT need be paid on packages with a value under £15. It would be advisable to try to find out what the equivalent limit is for other countries where multiple Talossans live.
