Don’t want to meddle in your Scribery stuff, but I think what AD was saying, is: “Can you do it? I don’t have the time for that, at the moment.”
Do correct me, if I am wrong.

That is kind of what I was driving at, yes. I did all of the absolutely necessary for last term, but I didn't put in the actual bills or individual results for the fourth and fifth Clarks.

I hope you'll find the time to get started soon Also, if you don't mind, would you please appoint Munditenens Tresplet as a Deputy? I had appointed him one last term during your predecessor's absence so he could help us out with maintaining the records of laws by working with a "bot" (that can make changes to all the laws at once) but I thought it would be better if you did it to confirm.

I was actually getting started Monday but alas... we were experiencing problems. I'll deal with the deputy when I get to a real computer.

I'm unhappy to say this, but multiple private messages over the past month have had no result.
We now have four Clarks that are waiting to be done. If this second replacement does not have the time for the position, then perhaps it's time to look for someone else?

I've had some communication with the Scribe. It seems part of the problem is the sheer volume of pointless busywork available in keeping the archives updated. The Scribe's job as current formulated is not just to post up enacted legislation and accordingly update El Lexhátx, but apparently there are all manner of "links" that have to be updated, as well as some kind of "chart" I am beginning to suspect that the problem here is the same as the problem with the Chancery under the incumbent SoS (coincidentally, a problem we had with a couple of incumbents in the Republic). To wit: an incumbent picks on a system which is byzantinely complicated; he or she leaves that system for their predecessors to "inherit"; the successor doesn't have the time or can't be bothered, so the system breaks down. It is coming quickly to my attention, therefore, that one problem with Government jobs in Talossa is that many of them are so damn complicated that only one or two people can do them. Thereby, either leading that person to be permanently in the role, or permanently looking over the shoulder of their successors, telling them how it "should be done". This isn't democratic. Important jobs like the Scribery and the SoS's office must be so simple that a broad range of active Talossans can do it. Otherwise, we end up with an Aristocracy of Those Who Know How To Work The System. Is this deliberate?

I'm not sure what can be so hard about the Scribery job. There are basically a few things to do:
1. Put each bill on a page on the wiki, and add it to the list on the statutes page. This is the chart, I guess. 2. Put the vote totals on the statutes page, and (if you have time, although this isn't absolutely necessary) add the vote totals to each bill's page, too. 3. Update el Lexhatx or the OrgLaw as necessary, if a bill/amendment is passed and signed.
And that's it. When I did it in the interim, it took me sonething like an hour per Clark to do all of that. And how to do it is not very hard... you can just copy and paste the same stuff from page to page, changing the numbers as needed. It's pretty simple. I would still be doing it, and would have taken the job when you offered it, if I just was able to take on another commitment.
I don't know... it's possible that it's more complicated than I can see, or more difficult than I recognize. I certainly wouldn't be bringing this up if I saw any signs that the Scribery had made even a token effort at doing anything at all. This whole situation makes me deeply unhappy.
I would be happy to help. I can show or explain how it is done. I want to find a solution here, and wouldn't have even brought this up publicly if private messages had worked. I'm not interested in embarrassing either M.T. or you... but come on, the laws have to be kept up to date! It's not rocket science.

I'm going to steal Ceváglh Scurzniôl's shtick for a moment.
CARTOON: Sir Alex as Admiral Nelson, facing a huge battleship called "DIFFICULTIES IN THE SCRIBERY", holds up a telescope to his blind eye.

Actually, Sir Alexandreu Davinescu, I was able to figure out how to make the law pages, so everything up until Cosa 47 is current now. I do NOT know how to get the chart in the Digest of Laws to change. I played around with it for hours, but I always end up having the chart all screwed up. Please add Cosa 47 along with the headers for the resolutions. I will go back and update the numbers, and the law pages. Thank you preemptively.
