It gives me great pleasure to announce the establishment of The First Talossan Church of Star Trek. The Church of Star Trek is open to all people who share Gene Roddenberry's philosophy. It is not meant as an affront to any other religion. Nor does it seek to draw people away from other religions. Owing to its philosophy of tolerance for other beliefs, the Church of Star Trek neither espouses belief in a particular deity (or deities) nor denies the existence of a deity (or deities). Members of the Church are free to make their own decisions about such things. --Space Pope Eugene the Second (just kidding about that, folks)

Yeah, Unitarians are kind of like the Church of Seinfeld....they're just a Church about nothing

Now accepting applications to be a member of the clergy. Act now, and you can be a Captain, or a Commodore, or even an Admiral...

Also accepting just plain old converts... You get to be referred to as "Ensign" and wear a red shirt... You know you wanna be a redshirt! Bring the kids, make them Cadets.

I feel i should bring a piece of realism to an otherwise comedic topic, Will there be sermons? Will a new thread be opened where the "pope" (Or priests) preach the ways of the Trekkie at least weekly? When is the date of publication for our Star Trek Bible? Would collections go around to better this church? Or do you just plan to let this fizzle and die?
Should you take the steps to make this a functioning church then i would like to apply for clergy, and i would also ask that i take part in the forming this church. Should anything need be done, if i am able i will see to it.

Will a new thread be opened where the "pope" (Or priests) preach the ways of the Trekkie at least weekly? Okay, a note about terminology: The clergy is based on Starfleet ranks, so the "pope" is called the Fleet Admiral. The highest ecclesiastical office within one Province is a Captain; for two, a Commodore; and for four, an Admiral. Initiates to the Church are called Ensigns (under 14 are Cadets), and they can be "promoted" by the Captain, Commodore, Admiral, etc. As for sermons, we're gonna need a few more members before we do that... The "Bible" is the collected episodes of every Star Trek series, so it's not really "published," at least not in book form. There's no charge for membership or anything, unless you want to go out and buy some Spock-ears or something. Although if you really want to give me money for the Church, I won't refuse it.

My mistake. However, isn't the bible simply a collection of stories compiled together to teach a morale lesson? Now if you look at all the star trek episodes, arnt they the same thing? Should this church grow bigger i think you should defiantly compile all the episodes into a book form.
