Well, I deliberately wouldn't call the ZRT the Republican Party because Americans would think that meant conservatives. Yeah, there might be a similar problem with other well-established terms like, for instance, "liberal", too, but then look at our genuine "peculiarist" drift - now this was really something that nobody understood.

We still need some other parties with great traditional names like this: Labour, Socialist, Christian Democrats, Conservative, Liberal, Communist, Democratic, Republican, Green, People's/Popular/Populist... they're pretty much all there for the taking! (Hey, Miestrâ, remember the good (brief) times we had with the PSD? I obliquely quoted one of our slogans in my wedding vows!) Here's a great list to reference: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_generic_names_of_political_partiesI note with some pride that "worker's party" appears on this list.

Of course in most countries that means the Communists, or at least the Socialists. BTW, if I didn't have my own party, I'd definitely cast my Cosâ vote for anyone promising legal reform to cut down on the Perry Mason cosplay and irrelevant nonsense in Talossa's legal system. No offense intended towards you, Tim, I hate the game, not the players. This is not justice, this is more like RPG rules-lawyering.

If you can't hate lawyers and insurance people I'm not sure who you can justifiably hate. But seriously, there is definitely a need for legal reform. I'm not saying I want to eliminate all of the lawyering, but we need to have a system which lends itself to swift and objective resolution. One fun idea would be to initiate an assessor system whereby the Uppermost Court might only have one Justice seated and two volunteer assessors assigned for a particular case. This would eliminate the "we don't have enough qualified candidates" situation (or at least drastically reduce it) and put power into the hands of the people, rather than political appointees who enjoy lifetime appointment.

It's painful to see stuff drag on for days and days that would take an hour or two to get through in a face-to-face hearing. I wish I could think of some practical reforms. But it seems like there's got to be a more efficient system out there. Like maybe compurgation or trial by ordeal.

I've cogitated on what Tim suggests above before - or at least reducing the CpI to 1 Justice with a fixed term. Or SOMETHING. You could increase the Magistracy to 5 if you wanted the same number of "active" judges.

I don't think I'd be comfortable putting the power of the CpI in the hands of a single person, even if it is a person with a fixed term.

Partly? The Republicans are the incarnation of the devil himself! And not the good devil, like "gambling", "drinking", "partying" or "sex". Much rather, devils like "anti-homosexuality", "anti-feminism", "anti-poor", "anti-migrants".
