If it so please the Squirrel King of Arms, I request the assistance of the College in designing and obtaining arms for myself and my lawful heirs.
As the clans of Scotland kept very few records of names, all I can trace back to 5 years after the battle of callodon, a Scottish man by James Robertson. He is my grate to the power of 18 grandfather. We are unsure if he definitely comes from the Robertson clan of pitlocry Scotland. The clans wiki is here : en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clan_Donnachaidh
I would like arms similar to the clans emblem. The crown grabbing thing. But I guess this is unlikely to be given, arms similar to it would be nice.
The colors of the tarten (on the wiki) would be nice.
Thank you so much

That's impossible.

And his granddad in, perhaps the 1860s. That's four generations. Your great great granddad's granddad was probably born in the early 1800s. That just two generations since 1751, which is five years after Culloden. So your ancestor Robertson is probably something like your great to the power of eight grandfather, or something like that.

Quick question -
Can you show linage to Alexander Robertson of Struan ? He is the 24th Chief of Clan Donnachaidh.
(Also, as a side note - I've been able to trace back a line of my forefathers back 14 Generations, and that was a birth year of 1520 )

Ah... Sounds about right... The date seams about right too... But yeah, we do not know if he was part at collodan or it was his father... But as I said, we can't go back farther than that due to no tribal records... But we do know he was Scottish, as we have found him on file for property which happened to have "home town"

And no, but as clan, all would have thde same last name, but Alexander decends from the cheaf, easily tracked, a local boy, not so much. But we haven't tried tracking anymore than paper trail.

Ok... so, back to James Robertson - you can trace back to him. Can you establish what relationship he has with the Clan, besides the same last name?

Azul S:reu Rôibeardescù,
I am the Fulbright Fellow and I have been assigned as your guide and designer in your quest for arms. When starting a new project, I always try to get a feel for what the potential armiger wants in a Coat of Arms. I have looked at the emblem of the Robertson Clan but I don't know how much of that is useful in this project. What kind of things are important to you? What do you do for a living? Is there a specific symbol you value? What colors do you think you would like?
Let's start generating some ideas and see where the path takes us.
Regards, Dr. dal Nordselva - The Fulbright Fellow

Well... Science, love and caring for others are my most important things. I am a student radiographer. I have a particular liking to the 42 (not sure if that's a symbol).... Umm
