...? It's just an access thing. The Scribe is the only one able to alter "Law" pages on the wiki, and the last Scribe left. The new Scribe -- Txec -- needed the permissions on the wiki to do their job. The restriction is for the Scribe, so no one else can butt in or interfere with their work unless the Scribe authorizes it. How else could we do it? As I am nominally in charge of the internet presence of the kingdom, I probably should have full permissions on the Wiki. At least I have "scribe powers" now which is better than nothing :-)

To whomever runs the Wiki, I would like permission to be able to edit TEMPLATES. I have some thoughts on ways to make templates used by the Scribery more informative such as adding if an amendment was proclaimed or not, or when a statute was assented to. I know how to do this, but I do not have the edit permissions. Also, I've been updating Statutory (EL.Lex) and OrgLaw, as well as the Digest of Laws to be more uniform. Feel free to ask me for editing them! BTW: I've added more information to this two templates: CortRuling ( at work properly here) CortRulingInRe ( at work properly here) I still need to add information for appeal, I'm studying how to do it.

I'd be happy to help in any way you need, if there's something I can do. Generally, MinSTUFF has been running our websites for years. There's a bill under vote right now to eliminate the contradiction where both the Scribe and the Ministry are nominally in charge of such things. Did you need or want control of all the websites? I don't know if you have a WordPress account, but we'd be happy to give you one, Scribe or not... everyone is welcome to help contribute to the site and get it in shape

For example, if I wanted to delete a page (or undelete one someone accidentally deleted), or if I wanted to delegate tasks to a Deputy Scribe, I have to ask someone to do those things for me which could take time if no one responds.

Oh, I see. Yeah, that's not really a policy choice so much as a thing that just hasn't been set up yet. If that's something you think is important, then I think I should be able to add pagedelete to the Scribe group without any trouble. Making you able to appoint or remove Scribes is a tiny bit trickier, but also something I can do. If there's anything else, just let me know

Would you object to just giving you bureaucrat and administrator statuses, instead? That would give you those powers. Or would you prefer the Scribe usergroup have those powers on its own? Either is possible.
Quick overview of wiki user structure:
Citizens can edit pages, upload files, skip CAPTCHA, and comment on law talk pages.
Scribes exclusively can edit Law pages, as well.
Administrators have tools for the wiki that are rather more dangerous if used incorrectly, such as page deletion, page protection, editing CSS, importing pages, and so on. It's intended for advanced users.
Bureaucrats have user management powers: assigning rights, banning users, editing most group rights, and hiding page revisions that contain private material or information. It's intended for advanced users.
Managers are officials appointed by the government to run the wiki. Their only extra powers are the ability to edit all user rights (and they cannot themselves be removed by anyone but another manager) and to use checkuser.
The system is in place to give people exactly as much control and power as they need, without any worry that someone could accidentally break something important or abuse their power. A tech-savvy but new citizen could be made a Citizen and Administrator, but not a Bureaucrat. A less savvy but trusted citizen might be made a Citizen and Bureaucrat, but not an Administrator. A citizen who's both trusted and technically proficient might be both. The last MinSTUFF instituted a policy where only people who actively needed those sorts of powers would get to keep them, but there's absolutely no reason why you couldn't be a manager or bureaucrat if you think it would help.

Just give me bureaucrat and admin status so as to avoid complications or issues in the future.

And I'm sorry I was snarky. I'm apparently still sore about the timing of the Wiki surprise and its rendering my own concurrent (but much less grand) work obsolete and never to be used.

Just give me bureaucrat and admin status so as to avoid complications or issues in the future. I'll ask someone with 'crat status to do that. I'm just a Citizen these days

I found some errors in the webpage Talossa.com (and sorry for thread hijacking!). Specifically, in the current heads of various Royal Household office. I'd like to be allowed to fix any errors I see. How do I do this?

Could I have access to edit Talossa.com also?
I have no immediate plans to use such access, but when I get bursts of energy and time, it would be good to have a sideline project to help update stuff whenever I find things out of date, etc.

I'll arrange an account for you on Talossa.com. I assume I'll have to wait for some form of permissions to be assigned before I can edit Talossa.com? I've been able to log in but I don't seem to be able to "fix" anything just yet :-)
