I'll add this to the list of stuff I want the first proper Fiôvân GA to consider...

If you reversed the sash (whether back-to-front or upside-down), then you could make it part of the royal regalia.

With the red underneath the green part of it, like Ián and I are wearing it, or is this a more principled interjection, Ceváglh?
As for the possible sillyness of a King in Republican regalia, I'd say there's no doubt that John Woolley is a Talossan Hero, one of these Talossans for whom we had this memorial day in September.
The Founders of the Republic didn't start a revolution because they were bored and sought some exotic political relief; they did so because they wanted to restore a Talossa in which a strict rule of law replaced the occasionally unbearable arbitrariness of King Ben's whims and obsessions.
John Woolley and others who were with him wanted the same, they wanted to restore a Talossa that was strictly following the rules that were set by the Constitution and other laws. Finally they overcame the regime of King Ben, and John Wolley became the new King of Talossa. Deservedly, if one assumes that monarchy is the only possible political order that fits the Talossan way of life.
From my republican point of view, I'm not lubricating a guillotine for a beheading of the current king of Talossa. I'd like us all to adopt some more features of a democracy, such as a secret ballot. In the long run I'd like to see that the person at the helm of our nationette is elected in regular popular elections. But it is not my intention to achieve this by lighting big firecrackers underneath the throne of el Citaxhiên Ián Lupúl.
(tl;dr: If King John wore the sash that Talossan Presidents used to wear, it would only symbolize our shared ideal and common achievement, which is the rule of the law and a constitutional order that will always curb the powerlust of ambitious individuals, for the benefit our beloved nationette.

Well, the idea was that we reversed the Republic and went back to a monarchy, so I thought the sash reversed would symbolize it.

We didn't reverse the Republic, we just returned to the Talossan mainstream.

Interesting idea.
(Like, in its political robustness, the Republic was "The Penguinea that should have been". Which brings me to another hobbyhorse of mine, the transfer of our three major Republican holidays to the Kingdom, but I will discuss that proposal later.)
