Put my name on that too.
I renounce my citizenship.
All this fighting and stealing and crap, if this is what Talossa is all about then I don't want to be a part of it.
Fritz, I am disappointed at how you've been acting. I thought you would be a good member. I feel betrayed.

Ben said it was too much money and too much time and all for nothing. That isn't true, it was fun while it lasted, but some people have to ruin it for everybody else. It started last year with the quitters and now it's the same shit just coming from our own people.
I never really did care what people say but I don't want to argue. All this petty arguing is ridiculous.

Oops, forgot to add -- once my renunciation takes effect in 24 hours, I will of course no longer be King. Louis I will be your king, not that I expect that to last very long, as the CLP majority will now be able to wipe the slate clean of anything that Talossa was ever all about and merge with Penguinea.

Don't worry folks. First Ben has to renounce; then he switches hats and as Secretary of State has to recognize his renunciation; then 24 hours has to pass before it goes into effect. Meanwhile, he's the King, and he can withdraw his renunciation.
Then there's the other question of whether a non-citizen can be King. Ben renounces citizenship, but does that mean that King Robert I has abdicated? Maybe not.
But if so, who becomes King? Louis? He's not a citizen either. I'd hold for Princess Jennifer's inheriting the throne, based on the 1989 House Law. But much maneuvering is no doubt about to happen, and this a week before the Cosâ dissolves!
Tune in later for more on this exciting fast-breaking story.

Good point. As Secretary of State I hereby acknowledge my renunciation and Amy's.
Last time I renounced was in the Halloween Crisis. People like Marti-Pair Furxheir and Michael Pope begged me to reconsider -- and six months later stabbed us all in the back. So I will not be paying much attention this time to such requests. One problem with keeping secrets from people is it completely destroys one's ability to trust their motivations anyway.

As Prime Minister, a loyal subject and friend of His Majesty The King, I am deeply saddened by this news, and that of the renounciation of The Queen. I hope that Their Majesties will reconsider, although as I have already expressed to The King, I understand their decision.
I fear that the end of Talossa is in sight. These are dark days.
God Save The King!

It might save some Constitutional confusion if, while we still have both a King and a Secretary of State, either the Secretary of State appoints a Deputy Secretary of State (who can then act as Secretary of State when the current one resigns), or the Secretary of State resigns and the King (by and with the Prime Minister's advice, of course) appoints a Secretary of State. (My suggestion, for what it's worth, would be a MN Secretary of State, who would then appoint a non-MN Deputy Secretary, the two of them to cooperate in conducting the upcoming election. But obviously this is up to the Prime Minister.)
Similarly, it would be helpful if Senator Durnford were to resign as Senator from Vuode, and the King were to appoint a replacement Senator as nominated by the Black Hand.
Just suggestions to save everyone a bunch of grief, and Talossa a worse crisis than would otherwise happen.

Your King and Queen just renounced their citizenship, and this is the only reaction from you?

Why, yes. Instead of emoting, I thought I'd try to make constructive suggestions so that the upcoming confusion might be a little less awful for you, Mr. Prime Minister, and for the nation.

I think you should reconsider. You might take a vacation (5 weeks works for the President-- what does a king get?)
You're quitting because of Fritz? Personally-- I think three new citizens in the last two days is kind of weird. What are the immigration rules with regards to that? It seemed like when I joined Talossa, the bar was a bit higher. Didn't there used to be a vote on new citizens?

>I think you should reconsider. You might take a vacation (5 weeks works for the President-- what does a king get?) Well, it's too late for that now anyway, it's all official. Whether it turns out to be an extended or a permanent vacation will depend on whether or not the next Ziu asks me to come back. I conferred with Wes Erni, now the leader of the MN, about all this tonight, and basically he's too stunned to offer any coherent speeches, but it appears the MN will be contesting the election, provided the people now running Talossa are interested in holding elections. The goal will evidently be to win a majority -- which is a possibility, if the secret legions of CLP members warned darkly by the CLP leadership turn out to be less than committed to the CLP cause. If not a majority, then at least 1/3 of the vote, to keep the CLP from amending the Organic Law. Hang in there, Pete! The Cort will have to take the leadership now. Ben

I don't suppose I really mind ex-Talossans (I refrain from using the charged word "quitters") posting their thoughts here on Wittenberg. But in common courtesy, they should carefully refrain from any insulting, or even obliquely slighting, language directed toward citizens of the Kingdom.
