Hey Vuodians,
Apparently, there is an election going on. Here in Vuode, the o-class primership is up. But it hasn't been contested. Was this Eddie's seat? If so, does he keep the seat?
Best,
V

I have no idea, I cant find the constitution. However, I recently noticed that the bill that passed the constitution was vetoed by the King anyway? If so, good. The three heads thing doesn't really work too well in my opinion. What do you think?

I'm in agreement. Perhaps we can work together to work on a framework for a constitution to make vuode a more organized province? i'm going to say that the old laws probably apply and this upcoming election will decide the seats for our general assembly. Not really sure how that stands.

Agreed then. Not sure on the latter part either. Are we able to declare some sort of State of Emergency and run the next Cosa without Provincial leadership giving us about 8 months to draft the new law?

Thanks Tycho!
I think it still stands that it isn't working. Perhaps we should press on with a constitutional convention. Also considering we cannot find the damn thing, as a holder of a seat on the Assembly, I call upon the people of Vuode to move into a constitutional convention to address this crisis. I believe that S:reu Grischun is also an elected representative along with S:reu Gavárþic'h. What do we all think?

A chap from the Scribery staggers by ... I don't know why (yet) but for some reason the two laws mentioned by the King in his proclamation are listed as vetoed in the comprehensive listing of L'Anuntzia dels Legeux. I find no proof that they were in fact vetoed. This matter will be explored by the Scribery with an update provided to you at the earliest opportunity. HOWEVER, should the good citizens of Vuode desire to convene a Constitutional Convention, the link provided is to what I believe is your existing Constitution and may provide a starting point. 40RZ14And the chap strolls away ...

I remember what happened, because Cézembre was also concerned. I'm quite sure the king vetoed the law, but proclaimed the constitution anyway.

Yes, the King vetoed the acts, because he felt that to accept and proclaim as established a provincial Constutition was a royal, not a legislative, prerogative. As his post said, in other language, "Since the Ziu told me in an illegal way that two constitutions needed proclaiming, I have tossed their illegal kick-in-my-pants back in their faces, but okay, my pants are kicked and I get the point, so my lazy ass hereby proclaims the things. So there."

Yes, that was it. Because technically the King is just supposed to proclaim the Constitution after it's submitted to him, without the legislature being involved at all. So Vuode's Constitution technically stands, I believe. And the O-Premier is up, I'm pretty sure. Maybe. Kind of.

I retract my statement of finding no proof of the veto.
A cursory reading of HM's proclamation would have been sufficient but alas, cursory reading is not my strong suit.
Dashing off at full speed, while only half-cocked (or is it half-crocked?) to find an answer despite all evidence being directly in front of me is much more to my liking.

Well, thanks to our SoS, we have located our constitution. Based on what is said in: talossa.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=hopper&action=display&thread=4745 the followings things seem to be the case: 1. We vote for individuals, not parties. Therefore, the votes cast are actually meaningless. People have not voted for anything. Those votes should be declared null. It will be up to Vuode to handle this election and it is our responsibility to alert the SoS of our unique situation in the next election. 2. The only seat up is O class, which is currently held by Premier Grischun. Based on the wording of the constitution, the seat is therefore vacated. I'm assuming that if it runs uncontested, he will continue being O-Premier. But, considering that the O class is up for election, only the V-class Premier could support my call for a constitutional convention. Thus, we must wait till after the election cycle completes. 3. If anyone wants to contest the seat, I will gladly run the election as our SoS has, understandably, told us to do our own thing this time around. Please state if you would like to contest the seat. If it goes uncontested, I assume it remains S:reu Grischun.
