I have always fought for greater government accountability and increased civil liberties for Talossans. My noble challenger, I am sure, has the best interests of Talossa in his heart. However, creating advisory bodies and forcing citizens to serve on it is not how we will create greater activity. We need innovation, we need to listen to new citizens and offer programs and services to keep them coming back. If we do this, we will attract new citizens. Capt. T's idea is not a responsible use of the Kingdom's resources. It is a solution to a problem that does not exist. As a government entity, the idea would not work. As a non-governmental policy advisory group, however, we might have a greater voice given to the far reaches of our constituency. I believe I have the experience, the drive and the ability to continue serving the sovereign province of Benito.

I'd now like to take this debate to the next level.
In the second phase, I will ask each candidate to ask a question to the other. The question will be no longer than 140 words.
The Reply will be the standard 250 words. I will allow 1 follow up question and answer , each not more than 150 words.
If any citizen of Benito wishes to also offer a follow up question, I will allow them 250 words to reply.
Capt T, please ask Capt A the first question.

The question that i pose to my PP counterpart is this, Do you feel that you are a politician?

No I do not. I feel that I am a Talossan and a Benitian. I feel that as a citizen I am called to serve my King and this Kingdom to the best of my abilities. I have done so as the Minister of Defence and a Capitan in the Royal Navy as well as through my elected position of Maestro and the self-appointed role as interim Senator. Were I a politician, I imagine it would have been far easier to simply appoint myself to complete the remainder of Flip's term. Instead, I appointed myself only until a special election could be held. I believe in democracy and in the people choosing their representative and that representative truly listening to their needs. My initiatives as an MC up to this point have included legislation to hold office holders accountable to their constituents.
