Fellow citizens of the Vuode Province of the Kingdom of Talossa,
My name is Éovart Grischun, or in English, Edward Grice and I am currently a joint Premier in the Vuode Province. From the day that I joined Talossa I have involved myself in as many ways as I possibly could. I have used my initiative, I have spearheaded projects, I have made friends, I have held membership in various political parties, I have sat in the Cosa chamber and served in two government cabinets as Minister of Culture. I think I know Talossa very well and I think I know how she works and what is needed to take her forward to become a more fun and active environment to suit all tastes and walks of life.
Now, I have it pretty easy for I have found myself in a very unique political position. I am currently a member of the Progressive Party and if the PP win this election I will serve as their Minister of Culture. However, I am currently the Minister of Culture for the RUMP, my parties opposition! I also have it on pretty good authority that I may possibly, quite likely, serve as Minister of Culture again for the RUMP next term if they win the election. A win/win for me! Talk about job security!
The reason for this, as I see it, is that I am the best available man for the job. Both the PP (the party I belong to) and the RUMP (the party I oppose) both see my ability and passion and thus both have me headhunted to serve in this cabinet position for that reason. So, one may ask, do I even care who wins the election when I know my job is safe either way? Well, the answer is YES, I DO CARE! In fact I care so much right now that I doubt I will even accept the offer from the RUMP when it comes.
I want to serve as a PP Minister. Desperately. I am sick and tired of sitting in the RUMP cabinet. Last term I busted my nuts, working like crazy. Go back a year or so into the Witt Archives to see what My Ministry achieved. It was said that I was setting a new bar for ministerial activity, yet the other cabinet ministers lay asleep. Why would I want to work so hard while the rest of the government does sweet nothing? Well for Talossa of course. But as one man and as one minister there was only so much I could do without the aid of the rest of the government's cabinet... and so the story ends with me deciding to sit on my laurels and sit out the rest of this term doing nothing along with them. I wont sit on another RUMP cabinet. I simply wont.
I want to work in a cabinet where things get down across the board. I want to sit on a cabinet that comes to me for advice and will offer advice on return when I seek it. I want to sit on a cabinet that will participate in joint-ministerial projects. I want to sit on a cabinet that ensures projects are carried through to the end game and not just spoke about for months at a time.
That cabinet is a Progressive Cabinet.
I have worked with the Progressives for some months now and I can see a similar passion and drive in them that is in me. I am confident, so confident, that as a government, the Progressive Party can get so much done. I have seen the plans, I have sat in conference calls, I have heard the passionate calls and seen the fire in their bellies. I know that as a Progressive Minister I could get a hell of a lot done and I know that a Progressive Cabinet could do a whole lot more.
Please, friends in Vuode, in this election please vote "PROGRESSIVE PARTY OF TALOSSA" and vote for Dréu Gavárþic'h for a Progressive Senator for Vuode.
Desperate for Talossa's wake up call,
Eddie Grice.
