I think Mick, that if we only had a sort of locking mechanism for the Zui then that would be all that was needed.
But only with in that board, I don't think it would be a bad idea to have a bakup under lock and key for posterity

Is it possible for an admin to see the original of something that has been edited?

Is it actually possible to stop people from editing on PB?

Perhaps. it comes down to this- do we judge a person by what was said in anger, or in haste- or by what was said after thought, and .....ok...sobering up? No, you don't judge a person solely by what was said in anger, but you don't necessarily cover it up either. I generally think such situations are best dealt with by taking responsibility on one side and granting forgiveness on the other. If the situation is resolved, administrators can lock and/or delete threads. If legal action may be necessary (e.g. if an irresponsible monarch viciously slanders an innocent citizen, as occurred during an earlier reign) it may not be wise to allow the guilty party to destroy the evidence.

Is it possible for an admin to see the original of something that has been edited? I believe not. Is it actually possible to stop people from editing on PB? I believe so. King John can answer both questions authoritatively, though.

If there's a way to see earlier versions of edited posts, I have no idea how to do it.
As best I can tell, there's no way to keep people from editing or deleting their own posts, except to entirely lock the thread or board on which the post was made — and that keeps anyone from posting anything there.

I guess the issue is moot for now, then. But still worth thinking ahead for the day when we eventually leave Proboards behind for our own dedicated forum.

This is something that requires some extraordinary thought. How do we move forward when the time comes?

If we were to do so, what system would we use?

We might need to recruit a webmaster to host our own site.
