He was referring to the provincial legislature (I assume), which is called the Casa in the original draft of the constitution. All of us Maricopans seem to be in favour of changing it to Cleivi, though, to avoid just such confusion.

Over in Cézembre's forum, some points have been made arguing against the use of the phrase "Sovereign Province" in provincial constitutions. What do y'all think of that?

If a province can have its own constitution and govern itself, it is sovereign.

So does this mean there will be a vote soon or are we still in the process of ratification?

Support has been unanimous so far. The main thing we need is for the Cunstaval to proclaim the new constitution. He last posted a few weeks ago. Premier Asmour has been trying to get his attention via e-mail, with no luck so far.

If the Cunstaval doesn't show up, I would be pleased to promulgate Maricopa's new Constitution myself.
One possible problem though. It seems to me that Article 13 may be partially inOrganic, as it could be held to constrain both 1) my choice of Constable, and 2) the Province's choice of Senator. It might be better to say roughly that neither the Constable nor the Senator may serve as Premier, and the Premier (if he accepts either of the other offices) must resign as Premier.

Due to HM's remark on Article 13, I propose that the wording, which was like this:
"So that no conflict of interest may occur, or that no one individual may take over the province in a hostile attempt, no-one may hold more than one of the offices of Premieir, Governadeir-Xheneral, or Domnul-Senätsesc simultaneously, without express consent of the Casa."
be changed to this:
"So that no conflict of interest may occur, or that no one individual may take over the province in a hostile attempt, neither the Constable nor the Senator may serve as Premier, and if the Premier accepts either of the other offices he must resign as Premier."
Folks, please vote ASAP.

I agree to what I have proposed. So it's 2-0 so far.

Cosa, isn't it? So sorry that I have been absent for the last month. Things hopping at work doing things for Administration in their absence. Going through some family issues too. If we have a vote due, will someone please email me at my regular email address so that I don't miss it? I don't think I will be able to log in to the forum a lot over the next few weeks.

Cosa is the lower house of the national legislature. The provincial legislature was called the Casa in the original draft of this constitution, and we've talked about changing it to Cleivi. I'll send you an e-mail about the vote (or have Premier Asmour do it). I pray for the speediest and happiest possible resolution of your family issues!

Thank you so much for your kindness. This is going to be a months long ordeal unfortunately. I don't know who is going to reach "wit's end" soonest - my husband or me - but your prayers would be greatly appreciated.

Oops...the letters were so small I missed the call for a vote on Article 13.
If you are still tallying votes, place mine under "Aye."

PROPOSAL:
When there is a call for a vote embedded in a post, perhaps there should be a particular signal flag at the top of the post...maybe the naval flag for "V" as in Victory
If a resolution passes, the flag should have a thumbs up sign...voted down should have a thumbs down...
what do you think?
