My Suggested Agenda for the States-General: 1. Electing a Premier 2. Deciding on a flag/coat of arms 3. Constitutional Convention
EDIT: Perhaps 2+3 can go hand in hand? RE-EDIT: I suggest that our Senator (Sir Trotxa) become de facto premier of our province until a premier is elected.

I suggest that our Senator (Sir Trotxa) become de facto premier of our province until a premier is elected. I thank S:reu Gavárþic'h for his kind thoughts. My recommendation is that the longest-tenured citizen, our Cunstaval S:reu McGarry, first be asked to perform this service. Think of him as Citizen pro tempore. If S:reu McGarry does not wish to serve, or if his service would provoke a constitutional crisis, then I will be willing to assist. Sir T

or if his service would provoke a constitutional crisis, then I will be willing to assist. Sir T That was my original fear. It would be a bit weird to have our Cunstaval be our premier I mean...even Ben was never PM (Not that S:reu McGarry is the least bit like Ben)

I moved to the East coast in 95 and from there was only voting every now and then...then it got weird and I stayed away until recently....I'll help out however I can, and don't worry about my feelings about wether or not I have a seat here or there or as who or what...I care, but it's not an ego thing with me.

So...considering you already have seats.... I nominate S:reu John McGarry to "Official Caretaker of the Province of Vuode" until a constitution is confirmed and elections for our premier are held. EDIT: Do I hear a second?

I do not believe the Cunstaval should act as Premier.

I do not believe the Cunstaval should act as Premier. But the Cunstaval already has seats right? So he's already "infiltrated" the legislative branch. So...why not?

So you're saying the Cunstaval should "infiltrate" both the legislative and executive? Pah-lease Dreu. Seriously, sometimes you... There is no plausible reason for him to occupy three seats.

I'm glad to see things are already under way in Vuode

Beg leave to comment - I trust no one will mind overly!
Intriguing constitutional debate here. Viteu, perhaps the reason is that expressed by your partymate, Trotxa:
"My recommendation is that the longest-tenured citizen, our Cunstaval S:reu McGarry, first be asked to perform this service [acting premier]. Think of him as Citizen pro tempore."
Of course he also cited the chance of a constitutional crisis, but THAT, at least, is the reason for the suggestion being made; there is a need for an acting premier, and he is longest-tenured and well-respected.

I think it's probably easiest if we vote on this... | John McGarry | Sir Trotxa Betingeir | Sir Trotxa Betingeir | | | Viteu Toctviac'hteir | | | Alexandreu Gavártgic'h | Üc | | (Muhammad) Hairil Iskandar Bin Rajis | | |

Okay folks, I hate to point out the obvious, BUT WE DON'T HAVE OUR CONSTITUTION. For all we know, it's sitting at the bottom of some bird's cage. With that being said, we MUST call a Constitutional Convention!
So, being as there are some arguable points both for and against nominating McGarry as Premier, why do we not simply call the Constitutional Convention, and nominate either Sir Trotxa or John McGarry as president or Premier of the Convention while we decide which path our province should take. By going down this route, we recognize the need to create a working government in Vuode, avoid the possibility of a constitutional crisis (being as we do not know whether or not it is legal for the Cunstaval to legally occupy the Premiership).
Also, the only power the president/premier would have in this the Constitutional Convention would be to call a meeting into order, faciliate points, make sure nobody takes a subway to another citizens house to slap them upside the head... hard... and to make sure things go smoothly and civily.
I, for one, am more supportive of this role. We really can't appoint anyone to the government of Vuode when we really don't know what the government of Vuode is!

I would call it "Anarchy"

I'd much rather work to establish a government where I can reference it's written law than to work within a system that we really have no idea how it functions.
Vuode: Government is Anarachy! War is Peace! Slavery is Freedom!
all are doubleplusungood!
