I simply do not want to give a personal endorsement to official legislation that pessimistically condemns the future of a struggling nation (particularly: '...forced to link its destiny to a Somalia that has no foreseeable prospects of rising above fratricidal chaos...'), however true those pessimisms may seem to be.
Man is an amazing creature and is capable of accomplishing many political impossibilities. I believe that we would do well to hold optimism in our hearts, our minds and our words as regards the captives and degenerates of the world. In many cases all they have is hope, and in some cases, hope is enough: you can't stifle the human spirit. (I think I just crunched my soapbox.)

With eyes closed, the Member from Vuode lets loose a loud, rasping snort. His head snaps forward with an almost audible crack. His eyes pop open and he starts to rise, forgetting the writing desk dropped down in front of him. Entangled, he nearly tips his chair over. He sits, takes a breath, disentangles himself from his seat and rises. He smacks his lips, and croaks towards the Speaker's chair:

Apologies, my lord. Am I still able to vote?

With a glare, the Speaker nods a brusque affirmative.
