So far, we only have preliminary results, I believe. But those give us:

Assuming those all hold, under the precedents of for voting for the party leader and voting PRESENT, that translates to:

FreeDems: 5
AMP: 1
ModRads: 5
? ? ? ? ? : 1

Under precedent, we treated a vote for Luc da Shir as a vote for Luc da Schir, so that's either an unregistered independent or as an effort to cast a vote for the ModRads. That then leaves the question as to whether it was a successful attempt at either, since we have no specific precedent on unregistered independents under the current rules and it wasn't for the actual party leader.

If we treat it as a failed vote, the seat distribution is easy.
5 ModRad, 5 FreeDem, 1 AMP, all integers.


If we treat it as a valid vote for Luc da Schir as an independent, under the precedent-established Hare-Niemeyer system we get:

Quota = 12 (votes) / 11 (seats) = 1.09090909...

Alright, I'm not going to argue over the 50% chance we'd get an extra seat. I accept your interpretation, with the proviso that we'd probably need to pass some set of guidelines to address this kind of unprecedented situations.

(Also, Istefan, I apologise for encouraging/suggesting in the registration thread to vote for individuals. The last thing I'd want is for you to be in a difficult spot, figuratively speaking, when having to deal with absence of precedents.)

Well, if the guy who's seat is the issue is not objecting, I'm going to take that as a good-enough, at least for now. Unless someone else objects?

(And don't worry, I suspect people will vote oddly no matter what. And it's not like the precedents are anything more than how you or I judged the first time an issue came up anyway.)

My suggestion for any cases of tied remainders, by the way, is that we use a publicly-available published random number as the determinant, as specified in advance of the number's selection and publishing by the Arvitieir Prima.

So in this case, the Arvitieir Prima might post, right now, "The first number drawn for the Saturday, April 13th Wisconsin Megabucks lottery will determine the seat. ModRads are assigned numbers 1-24, the FreeDems 25-48. If 49 is drawn, the second number drawn will determine the seat."

If there were three tied parties, the ranges would be something like 1-16, 17-32, 33-48, with 49 rolling over. Four would be 1-12, 13-24, 25-36, 37-48, 49 rolling over. Five would be 1-9, 10-18, 19-27, 28-36, 37-45, with 46-49 roiling over potentially to the fifth number drawn. And so on . . .
