Greetings Atatürkers,
While this is one of the quietest eras of our micronation's existence, I remain committed to defending the interests of the province on your behalf, regardless of the party you support.
The MRPT supports our right to govern ourselves according to our own consciences, even where such beliefs might vary from the official party platform. Let's take full advantage of that, and do what we will.
Talk to me; I am at your service. By public forum or private message, I am interested in your thoughts on any matter.
In the absence of feedback, I will vote by my conscience. However, I am still answerable to you for any of my votes this term. If you have questions or concerns, I want to know.
Warmest regards,
Sevastáin Pinátsch Senator for Atatürk

Regarding this month's Clark: Please note that the author of the "Birds of a Feather..." Act has essentially withdrawn support for his own act and advises everyone to vote CONTRÂ. I intend to honour this request. ~ SP

I have voted against RZ7 :The Provincial Depiction Right of Determination Act on the basis that it is both needless duplication of previously protected rights to provincial self-determination, and that it is oddly and uselessly specific.
As the bill itself points out, it is an affirmation of the right for provinces to determine cultural elements (“symbols, flags, heraldry, anthems, cultural events, and other like things”), which are guaranteed by the existing Organic Law. Correspondingly, we Atatürkers reserve the right in our provincial constitution to make these assignments or definitions through law. There is no need to add additional lines into El Lexhatx for no added value.
The granular specification of colour in this bill is curious, given that it is rather broadly titled "The Provincial Depiction Right of Determination Act" Why only colour? Because, at its basis, this bill originates as a result of a public conflict between two officials about the colour used to depict our province (yellow vs. red). It could very well have been written to include elements other than colour, but this would still add no value, attempting to protect elements previously protected under provincial and Talossan law.
The writer of the bill -- and proponent of yellow in the "yellow vs. red" conflict -- is still currently using #KAYELLOW4EVR in the signature line of his account, further suggesting that the real purpose of this bill is to use legislation to decisively win an argument.
I found the argument amusing -- initially. I'm now rather tired of it, and despondent that the Ziu is being used, or mis-used, in this manner. This escalated needlessly. Our own passing of a colour bill should have resulted in this one being withdrawn.
The most amusing thing remains that neither side in "yellow vs. red" are Atatürkers. Neither really have a say.
I supported the PD because it was born of a well-intended initiative by the PM to increase engagement in Talossa -- an initiative that I respect and applaud. I could have ignored it, safely and legally, but I thought, "It's all in good fun, and for a worthy cause."
This cause still exists, but I must say that this long and needless squabble between individuals culminating in an oddly-specific bill, really took the fun out of it for me.
I have no hard feelings regarding the individuals involved, but I hope this unfortunate bleed from personal to professional is not repeated.
Your loyal servant, ~ SP
