First, the cross is not only offset to sinister but also enhanced. Then, there are so many species and colours of foxes that a fox proper can't communicate the tincture of the fox. I'd call him a fox or eyes gules.
It's a beautiful device.

I was going to add enhanced to the blazon but I wasn't entirely sure. Thanks for the clarification on the coloring of the fox.
