That is basically what I was thinking, just the moon is tilted with the points pointing to the right and a different colour scheme. Mabye something else in there too.

I was thinking that I would not have a star with the crescent moon and instead have a different symbol.

Estimat S:reu da Fhamul,
Your Arms (once granted by Sieu Maxhestà) are yours and you will have to live with them for your lifetime (and the lifetime of your heirs). Make sure to choose wisely! Don't let anyone influence you on this, beyond the rules of heraldry!

I thought long and hard on what I want for my coat of arms, and I have decided on having a green background and a blue Star of David ( I am a Jew) in the centre. Besides that I have no idea.

Estimat Renalt, That sounds like a good start. I am going to jump the gun and assign this project to myself, the Kingsbridge Pursuivant. I will work up an example soon! I can't officially complete the project until The Squirrel King of Arms (or his regent Sir C. M. Siervicül) officially accepts it, but that won't keep me from working on it. Regards, - Kingsbridge

Unfortunately, under the rules of heraldry, I cannot place an azure star on top of a vert background (no color on color). I will make a mockup of a vert (green) background with an argent (a metal) star on top to start off.

Other options are to fimbriate the star or to but the star on top of an ordinary (like a pale or a fess).
