Also worth pointing out: Inventing traditions has a long and glorious... tradition, both in Talossa and the rest of the world.
In the US, Thanksgiving wasn't always a holiday. In 1863, Abraham Lincoln proclaimed a national day of "Thanksgiving and Praise to our beneficent Father who dwelleth in the Heavens." Before that, various Presidents and Congresses had proclaimed "Days of Thanksgiving." It actually had to be proclaimed every year, until 1942, when it was fixed as the fourth Thursday in November. But no one says "Thanksgiving is just something some guy made up, so I'm not celebrating it." Likewise, it being something some guy made up doesn't stop people from celebrating Kwanzaa, even though it wasn't around till 1966.

May I suggest that a general holiday be called for tomorrow the 3rd of October 2018 in recognition of the baseball game to take place pitting the GTA Brewers vs the Colorado Rockies.

I'd remove Off With Their Heads Day, Cestour Day and Mindless Patriotism Day.
Holiday of Hatred should be renamed Flag Day.
Just my two bence...

Do we really need Alfred Lawson Day? At least for my two cents, I think a little bit. He's the kind of kook that would be very fitting for a place like Talossa. Though if we are going to commemorate him, we should, you know... actually do something with it.

Ok, I don't have a problem with keeping that holiday. If enough people want to keep it, it stays. I'm all about democracy.

"Victory Day (observed) (4th Thursday in November) celebrates the triumphant victory of our nation in every single war it has ever fought (specifically, the victory won on 25 November 1980 in the Cone Wars)"
Question: Is Mr. Gary Cone a person verboten here in Talossa? And whether or not he is, is it not a bit churlish to keep his name in the list of holidays?

He was a big supporter of King Robert I (his childhood friend) during the times of National Schism and I think he was even Seneschál once. Obviously he had no complaints at the time.

In any case, I would be very interested in the Cultural Development Secretary - who is now officially responsible for National Holiday observance - to submit a formal proposal to me for "National Holiday Reform" which I can then submit to the Ziu.
