I was elected by the people of this province to the Senäts of the Kingdom in a hotly disputed election something like 5 months ago. The problem with this election was that it was the first province-run Senatorial election, and the Provincial SoS was not quite ready for it; therefore, the election only lasted one week, and no email reminders were sent to citizens. Therefore, the election was over and done before many Fiôvâns knew what was happening.
Although I was legally elected Senator from Fiôvâ, it seemed to lack democratic legitimacy and many Fiôvâns demanded a re-vote. To head this off, I promised that I was resign my seat at the next coming General Election, opening up a by-election for Senator from Fiôvâ; but that I would fight this by-election for a mandate to complete my term.
This is just a post to reconfirm this commitment both to the Mençéi and to the Kingdom and Fiôvân Secretaries of State. I resign my seat in the Senäts, effective as of the next General Election, but I declare my candidacy for the subsequent Fiôvân Senatorial by-election.
