Voting without an explanation is fine, but it's also perfectly legitimate to ask a fellow legislator why they vote a certain way. If we, as legislators, not as voters, feel uncomfortable explaining how we vote, that should perhaps give us pause regarding having a direct democracy system. In legislation, discussion and debate is the only way the process can move forward.

The Fiôvân Honours Bill
1. The Provincial Government of Fiova may confer an honour, Stalwart of the Four Stars, upon any of Talossa's citizens that are considered eligible by provincial law.
2. Talossan citizens may be considered eligible if they have displayed exceptional service in promoting the importance of the Talossan Republic's heritage as part of Talossan culture.
3. The honour must be conferred by Executive Order of the Cunstaval, though the General Assembly may compel the Cunstaval to confer the aforementioned honour by resolution.

Oh well, it is more then moth after Royal Assent. Errm, I am citizen only 3 days, but I see this as reason for Motion of No Confidence at GA

I worry that this law may follow the fate of the old Honours law we had in the Republic - i.e. never used. This is an ongoing theme in Talossan legislation - "let's make a law so that X thing can happen!" then X thing never happens. It would have probably just been best to make X thing happen extra-legally.

I worry that this law may follow the fate of the old Honours law we had in the Republic - i.e. never used. This is my fault, actually, since I never got back to Carlus regarding a private message he sent me. He's been on the ball, I haven't been, but it's rolling again nonetheless. |
