Presidency of the Senate / Presidensqab del Senäts
Closing of Senate Business for the 53rd Cosa and additional communications
Esteemed Senators, I note the passage of 53RS01, Resolution of the Senate in regards to Tomás Gariçéir, by a vote of 5 to 0. I will take upon myself to write to S:r Gariçéir by this weekend at the latest to pass on the best wishes of the Senate. Unless I hear objections, I will add on the co-signatures of the other members who voted Për (Viteu Marcianüs, Gödafrïeu Válcadác’h, Ian Plätschisch and Sir C. M. Siervicül).
I am also obliged to note that the esteemed Senator for Cézembre, S:r Deyaert, has vacated his seat on October 21st due to the provisions of Article V, Section 5 of the Organic Law. On behalf of the Senate, I would like to thank S:r Deyaert for his service.
I would also like to acquaint the Senate that I was recently reminded by the Chancery that I needed to choose a Senator to serve on the Electoral Commission by October 15th - said reminder was due to be issued on September 15th by law. The Secretary urged me to pick a Senator as soon as possible; given that, of the three eligible Senators, I was the most active and least tied to partisan offices, and given that I had little time to contact the other candidates, I chose to put forward my name. I apologise for the unfortunate situation.
Since we're done for the current term, I therefore declare the Senate will be in recess according to Rule 6, from the moment the Cosa is dissolved (or November 1st, whichever is sooner) until the new term of the Senate begins pursuant to Rule 1.
As this is the last Clark of the 53rd Cosa, my heartfelt thanks go to the members whose terms will expire in December – S:reux Siervicül, Válcadác'h and Ventrutx. Best of luck to those who will seek reelection, and congratulations for their service in this House to those who will choose to retire.
