In at least a crude fashion and without having double-checked for missed threads, I've archived Witt XI up to thread number 3100. The great urgency of this project, of course, is getting some sort of archive for each and every post, no matter the file-format. For years beyond all expectation, ProBoards has been 99.999% reliable with its free forum web-service, but as I say constantly, we cannot take its continued existence for granted. In fulfilling the urgency of this project, I'm finding the use of Save Page WE on Firefox to be as close to a dream as I get. Without any manual data-entry (always prone to typos), I can one-hotkeycombo-save every Witt thread I open. It's as close to a dream come true as I've been able to find. Save Page WE saves to a 'single-file' .html, which for me is the only way to go for .html files. I have a few threads saved from years ago in a 'complete Web Page' state in which for each thread there is an .html file accompanied by a folder with innumerable tiny files without which, the .html will possibly not even work. The overall organization of this project is, for now: 1st pass: get everything saved to at least one format - no double-checking for missing threads yet. 2nd pass: double-check for missing threads and save same to format used for 1st pass. 3rd pass and beyond: save to additional formats As of 15 March 2019, I've begun putting together the protocol by which I will save recent threads periodically (currently every week). + + + Where I am re the 42 Project docs.google.com/document/d/1UzbMyC8EOgg8J85rIZEY5C44z3Pqbj70dB2UMmZ9OW4/edit?usp=sharing + + + Talossan Royal Archives White Paper - everything you need to know about the Talossan Royal Archives is here. docs.google.com/document/d/1P7szJDxaLlRMNY6FMIZjHkufj1tAcA2kZZvV8jqvyzs/viewHopefully, more work to be done this month!
