If we were going to design a set of Talossan Playing cards, I think we would change the suits to symbols that had some meaning to Talossans. Instead of the usual hearts, diamonds, spades and clubs or whatever they use on other decks (I have a deck of Spanish cards where the suits are more like the suits in Tarot cards), wouldn't we want something unique to our country? So far, all I've come up with for suits is a bedpost. (The eight of bedposts, pictured above.) Any ideas on what our other Talossan playing card suits could be? If we can come up with something neat, maybe we could pitch in and get a few decks printed up.

I like your suggestions, Glüc. Aside from different suits, maybe the cards of King, Queen and Jack can bear the likenesses of eminent Talossans. (If nobody would mind their face on a playing card.) (If there was a suit of Hands, we could paste Hooligan's face on the King card.) As an example, I've put fellow Ohio Benitian ESB on a Joker card. (I dunno, it seemed to fit...😁)

I just realized txocheir is misspelled on the bottom. Oh well, this is just a prototype card.

A pack of Talossan playing cards doesn't contain face cards. There are four suits; coins, cups, stars and wands. Each suit has twelve cards. I thought everyone knew that.
(Note: No one knows that because I just made it up.)

Once we have all the cards we could import them in Tabletop Simulator for testing purposes.
I tried finding info on Occitanian or North African playing cards but alas...

So the ace is a censer, the two is an incense censer, the three is the sense of an incense censer, the four is being incensed by the sense of an incense censer, the five is the sensation of being incensed by the sense of an incense censer, the six is the sensible sensation of being incensed by the sense of an incense censer, the seven is the sensational and sensible sensation of being incensed by the sense of an incense censer, the eight is the sentimental but sensational and sensible sensation of being incensed by the sense of an incense censer, the nine is the censored and sentimental but sensational and sensible sensation of being incensed by the sense of an incense censer, the ten is the decaroma, the jack or knight is Minor Perfumer the queen is the Chanel and the King is Melchior. Yes, this would be a good suit.

...the other suits could be Bedposts (as already suggested) and Beer bottles (how can we not have those!) and accented letters (from El Glheƿ Talossan), such as à á â è é ì í ò ó ô ù ú ƿ ð ë ȇ ĝ î ñ ø. The letters suit could be:
1: à 2: á è 3: â é ì 4: ì í / ò ó 5: á â / ô / è é 6: à á â / ò ó ô 7: è é / ù / ì í / ò ó 8: á â / è é / ì í / ò ó 9: è é / ñ / ì í / ò ó / ë ȇ 10: ò ó / ĝ / ù ú / á â / ñ / ë ȇ Jack (Knight): ø Queen: ð King: ƿ
As the markers in the card corners we could use Ç and Ý

Why exactly would a pack of Talossan playing cards have a wynn on it and no thorn?

Why exactly would a pack of Talossan playing cards have a wynn on it and no thorn? The King has a thorn, because he is the wynn-ing card

I was thinking of something more reminiscent of Southern European card styles, like the Clubs-Swords-Cups-Coins but more talossified (Bedposts-Daggers-Censers-Bence?). The daggers would look like traditional Berber knives or something.
In the same spirit of Talossification, the Aces, Kings, Queens and Jacks would be labelled 1 (< viens "one"), S (< segnhor "lord"), D (< doamna "lady") and L (< lançeir "lancer, gunman") respectively after the words for them in Talossan, and their designs would reflect their Talossan meanings accordingly. I noticed with the deck of Spanish playing cards that I have laying around that the Ace of Coins is especially elaborate instead of the Ace of Spades in normal French playing cards.
Just some food for thought.
