Whereas, El Lexhatx E.4 states that after a prospective citizens examination period during the immigration process has begun, if a petition for citizenship has not been made to the Secretary of State after a period of 40 days then the prospective citizen's application is terminated; and
Whereas, El Lexhatx E.4 states that the Secretary of State shall post notifications of this occurring, but does not explicitly state who is responsible for initiating the termination or who should disable the prospective's Wittenberg account; and
Whereas, El Lexhatx E.5 states that the Interior Minister has the power to terminate citizenship applications in other instances, and
Whereas, it seems a little odd for the Secretary of State to be dealing with terminations instead of the immigration authorities, and
Whereas, it doesn't appear that the Chancery is doing this anyway, and
Whereas, the current Interior Minister is making reforms to the Immigration processes and this seems like a straightforward way to streamline one particular aspect of the application process, so
Therefore be it enacted by the Ziu assembled that El Lexhatx E.4, which currently reads:

4. An examination period shall begin with the prospective citizen’s first posting to Wittenberg afterhis an introduction by the Interior Minister. At any time at least fifteen days after the beginning of the examination period, any current citizen of Talossa may petition the Secretary of State requesting that a Royal Grant of Citizenship be issued to the prospective citizen. If no such petition is laid before the Secretary of State within the first forty days of the examination period, the examination period shall end, the immigration process for the prospective citizen shall be terminated, and his their Wittenberg account shall be disabled by the Interior Minister; in addition, the Secretary of State Interior Minister shall notify the Chancery, the Government and the prospective citizen of the termination of the process, and shall post a notification to the effect on Wittenberg.
